Have lots of information to share, including pictures on Rittimanns from Alsace France ( near German border-- several of the immigrants listed themselves as German not French origin). the principal ones were
John or Jean Baptiste Rittiman :
Born October 19, 1837 in Oberentzen (Alsace), France came over with Castro's Colony in 1845, and with his parents located at D'Hanis, Medina County, Texas
Also Johannes or John & wife Anne Marie
