I am looking for any information on the Rixford
and my family connection to it.
The only information I have is a short note my
grandmother, Jennie Smart Pierce, gave to my
father with a bronze cricket bootjack. The note
is as follows:
"Given to William H Rixford, your great-grandfather
when he was overseer of the workshop of the
state prison in Concord, NH by one of the
prisoners."
Since my grandmother was born in about 1873
that would put William born back between 1800
and 1835.
