You mentioned in a query back in 2005 that you believed that the Hiram Roberson of Gasconade, MO was Hiram Riley Roberson that died there in 1862. You said this was a collateral line, so maybe you don't have much information on it, but where did you get this information if I might ask? My friend has this Hiram listed as his direct ancestor, but even the 1850 census shows that Hiram was born in New Hampshire, not TN, although TN would make sense too. I have never seen a middle name listed for him. Anything you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert
ROAlbert63@gmail.com

My name is LaNiya Roberson. My father's name is Earnest Roberson. His father's name was Frederick...whose father was Harper...whose father was Lewis Roberson. Frederick never married and served in the military. Harper(Sept. 1874, MS) married Loda Smith(1882, TX) and they had 4 children: Ruby, Luster, Frederick, and Roscoe. Lewis(1844), from Mississippi, married Martha from Virginia.

A census conducted in 1870 provides Lewis address as: Township 15, Chickasaw, MS-P.O. Box Palo Alto. Other people living in the household at that time were: Wick or Dick, Charley, Wash, and Hannah.

These people were listed as Black, but the race of Martha could be Black or Mulatto.

Any information is greatly appreciated. My sister Virginia was trying to find your phone number for me as I'd like to get some information from you. Gin tells me you have lots of information on this line and since I didn't know my grandmother (your sister Dorothy) it would be quite helpful especially since dad says he doesn't know much of anything.

Please contact me.

Shelly
There were two Noah Perry Robersons in Martin County, NC in the 19th Century. The two were distantly related and trace back to the same pioneer ancestor, Henry Robertson/Roberson/Robason. Henry is a commonly used name for Robersons in Martin County. Successive Henrys are the descendants of Henry the firsts many sons.

The two Noah Perry Robersons also trace back to the original Henry, but through different sons. My Noah Perry goes back through Israel to David to Henry.

The Martin County Genealogy Society is active, but, to my knowledge, not on line. I do not have a direct address for them.

Jo Roberson Prytherch

Thanks for letting me know that you have no information on my Risdom Robason/Robertson. All that I have is that he sold his land to Harmon Robason in 1839 and is listed in Tennessee in 1840. I have been told he appears in two Martin County wills. One is dated 20 Oct 1832 the other 11 Feb 1840. I also have found that DNA results tie us to Henry Robason. Other relatives are Stallings, Baker, Rodgers and more according to my Father, but I have not started research on these lines yet.
I am in the process of trying to find whose wills have those dates. Isn't this fun.
Brenda

Who was "Walter Roberson", painter from Jesup, Wayne County, Georgia?

Walter Robinson (32 born 1888) married Mary Elizabeth (Mamie) Cadden (20) August 14, 1920 in Charleston, S. Carolina. Both were "of Charleston, SC." He signs "Walter Roberson" on his marriage license. Albert Loyd Robinson was born May 15, 1921 to Walter Robinson, 32, a painter of Jessup, Wayne County, GA and Mamie Caddin, 22, of Ravenel, SC. Walter Roberson abandons Mamie Caddin shortly after. Lloyd Albert Roberson obtains a social security number (251-12-0101)at 17 and lists his father as Ellis C. Roberson, who was born June 1890 in Jesup, GA; served in WWI (signed his draft registration card with an "X", and died July 1, 1952 in Montgomery, LA. A Walter Roberson was born Sep. 1885 in Odum, Wayne County, GA. A Walter K. Roberson lived in Jesup, GA, served in WWI, and died leaving a widow (Fannie Overstreet) by 1930. His (Walter K.) WWI draft registration card signature does not match the signature on the marriage license. A W. C. (Willie Clinton)Roberson signed his WWI registration card with a signature that closely matches the marriage license. W. C. was Walter Roberson's cousin and also born in Odum, Wayne County, GA on Oct 22, 1892. He married Ann Blanche Clark of Wayne County and lived and finally died in Cuyahoga Falls, Summit, Ohio Dec 12, 1978. A Walter Roberson born Feb 8, 1889 in Comanche, Texas also has a similar signature to the marriage license, but appears to have continued to live in Texas. Lloyd A. Roberson never adequately explained why he put Ellis C. Roberson's name on his social security card application. Who his father (Walter Roberson) really was remains a mystery.

William P Roberson

I am researching my Uncle Ira Commadore Roberson, William P would be his grandfather. He was born in Mississippi abt 1839 he married Susan A Reeves. I have him on the 1880 census in Polk County, Cove Township, Arkansas. I am looking for his burial place. I have from someone else information he is buried in Columbia, Arkansas. I have not been able to locate. If he was living in Polk it would have been a ways to bury him in Columbia, not impossible. It is said his marriage was there just checking if someone might have more information. I believe his total name is William Peter Roberson b 1839 Mississippi died in abt 1896 in Arkansas.

I know this is old but I would love a copy of the chart if I could get it. My great great grandparents were Lewis (louis) and Rachel Anders Roberson of Bienville (Arcardia) Louisiana. Lewis and his sister Eliot were born in Alabama but I have not able to trace their parents. Lewis died around 1865 and Rachel moved to East Texas with one of her brothers. If you can help that would be great.
Thanks,
Brenda Roberson-Stapleton

I am trying to establish a link to Clan Donnachaidh claimed by my gg grandfather, Robert ROBERTSON (b c 1807, Stewarton, Ayrshire, Scotland). He married Euphemia Galbraith AFFLECK at Ayr on 4 Aug 1818.

Euphemia's 1901 death notice reads:
"ROBERTSON - On the 31st December at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr John McNeil, "St Vincent", High Street, Northcote, Melbourne, Victoria. Euphemia Robertson nee Euphemia Affleck, eldest daughter of the late William Affleck, of Ayr, Scotland, and widow of the late Robert Robertson, grandson of the last Laird of Struan, Perthshire, Scotland, of Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Kilmarnock, Scotland, aged 90 years."

Regards

Ian
