Does anyone know where the Robey Family Association website moved to after Geocities stopped hosting?

I see lots of links to geocities when I google for it, but no new site.

Ultimately, I am trying to get my hands on the CD of Robey Family Chronicles (AKA Robey, Roby, Robie: The Family History from Early England to America by William G Robey).

Thanks!
Denny

Achsah was born 1853, died 1937. The gravestone is in Lowsville, WV outside of Morgantown.

Not sure this is the one you are looking for, but maybe somehow related.

Val Robey

Does Floyd (the father of Louverna) have a brother by the name of Walter Lewellyn Robey, and were they from the VA/WV area? If so, I MAY have a photo of Floyd (he would be my great, great uncle). Please feel free to contact me at my personal email address rmdefran @ aol. com I have no dates or other info on Floyd, but the date of birth I have for Walter is 1870...which leads me to believe he would be Louverna's uncle.

Charles Robey (Roby) married Susannah Copeland in Jefferson Co., Ohio, in 1827. They had at last three children - Jane (b. 1828), Jonathan (b. 1831), Elizabeth (b. 1841). Charles is in 1830 Jefferson Co. census but do not find him in 1840. In 1850 census Susannah and the three children (and her brother James) are in Jeff. Co. but Charles is no longer there. All later went to Iowa. Jane and Elizabeth married brothers named Merrill & moved to Buchanan Co. Iowa (Jane married Jesse, Elizabeth married Joseph). Am looking for info on parents/family of this Charles Roby. Jonathan Roby's death certificate says his father was born in either Ohio or Pennsylvania.

She is mentioned second in Hezekiah's will and is deceased by 17 Feb 1837 when the monies from his estate are distributed. James Addison died prior to 1850 and the Chariton County Courthouse was burned in 1864 so there is no will or documents proving the children of James and Sarah.

Next is their son Zachariah 1826-1862 (Killed at Memphis TN)
He was my gr, gr grandfather.

Would love to compare notes

Hello

I happened to notice your posting for Hezekiah Robey but when I checked the information I had for Hezekiah Robey, son of Alexander Robey and Sarah Brooks, it didn't appear they were the same person. But later in your post I noticed you said Hezekiah was the son of Leneard Robey who was the son of John Ally Robey. I believe this to be John Nalley Robey who married Elizabeth Harrent/Harrout, daughter of Peter/Pierre Harrant of Charles County. Peter also had a daughter Sarah who married John Brook(s) and their daughter was the Sarah Brooks who married the Alexander Robey I mentioned above. So while I don't believe you descend through my Brooks family in Charles County, it appears you are descended through our common ancestor Peter Harrant/Harout,who was born in France and naturalized in Charles County.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Chris Brooks
Kansas City, Missouri
I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “Lizzie Casey, now Mrs. E. E. Robey, Little Rock, IA – my sister”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1880, and she looks to be about early 20s. Little Rock is in Lyon Co.

I found Lizzie as Elizabeth Robey, age 60, wife of Elmore E. Robey in the 1920 census of Elgin (Lyon Co.) IA. She was born New Hampshire. Other censuses show her husband as Elmer Ellsworth Robey.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Elizabeth Casey Robey.

My grandmother Agnes Finley Murray had a sister, Anna. My grandmother was married to Edward J Murray of Maple Shade. My great-grand parents were Andrew and Mary Murray. I think that Agnes & Anna's mother's maiden name was McCabe. My father said that his grandmother Mary talked about coming from County Mayo Ireland.
Of course, all but my parents are passed on and the bits and pieces I have only go back as far as Andrew and Mary. No connections farther back. I was hoping another member of my grandmother's family was living to have additional info.
We live in Florida. My parents are Francis and Ann Murray.

I am not a related member of the Robey family, but tonight on our local news in Kentucky there was a part of the broadcast on I believe is a John Robey that was a police office killed in the line of duty in 1911. The county it happened in is trying to find any known relative because they are wanting to dedicate a memorial in honor of this man actually two memorials, any ways that can't find any family and said that it doesn't matter how distant you are they would like to have someone there in his honor to accept the memorial...You can find more info at the local news web site which is listed below...The dead line is Dec.31, 2007. I did hear them say it was in Marion Co. Ky. This is the actual clip that was on tv tonight. Please if your related give them a call....
http://www.tvclipfinder.com/ResultsServlet?search_parameters...+

While at the library copying obits for someone, I managed to get a copy of the following obit. I am in no way related to this person, but wanted to post the obit in case it was helpful to anyone.

Lowell Sun
Lowell MA
October 14, 1965

Mrs. Gaffney

Mrs. Sarah P.

I think your Hezekiah was the father of my g-g-g grandfather Hezekiah Roby, who would the brother of John Randolph. He was in Maryland, Ohio and then to Madison Co., Iowa around 1854. Our family records say he and wife Susannah (Huffman) were the parents of my great great grandfather Jonathan R. Roby (b. Ohio c. 1831, d. Madison Co., Iowa 1879). Other children were Jane (b. c. 1829, m. Jesse Merrill), Elizabeth (b. 1841, married Wm. Thornburgh in Madison Co., Iowa), David (m. Rebecca Clark in Madison Co., later he went to California), Mariah, and others. Hezekiah was among early settlers of Madison Co., with son David. Family later joined them. Wife Susannah died enroute and is buried in Peoria, Iowa. Some records say that after that hezekiah moved down to Missouri and had a new family.
