The Juan Robin you refer to does descend from Gils Robin.
I also descend from Juan Robin through his son, Emilio Robin, Benito Robin and Frank Robin, (my father).
Who are you and how are you related to Juan and Leonise Robin?

My son and I are trying to trace the Robin heritage as well. We were able to go back only as far as the 1870 census in St. Bernard Parish. Listed was Juan Robin, 30 who was married to Leonise, 26 and gave birth to Rapheal age 4. Do you by chance know if he was a decendant of Gils Robin. I'm having a hard time obtaining information past this census date (though I am new at this). I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks!!

Looking for confirmatory information of Gils Robin (1) (wife was Marie Videte, born about 1735)being from Trinidad, French West Indies. The first and only record of this family being from Trinidad is in book, Early Settlers on the Delta which gives no substantiating evidence. This family moved to St. Bernard parish in Louisiana about 1755-1770 and is well documented from there. Need info on his and wife's parentage, place of birth, etc. Listed in some La records as de Robin, Roben, Robine, and Robain

You are more than welcome.

I wish you well as you resolve some pressing issues.

There are two books on the market that you might enjoy: "I'm Okay, You're Okay" and "Reality Therapy". I had to read them while (as a computer trainer) I was taking a "Training and Development" (of the mind) certificate program at Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY. "Reality Therapy" is great because it teaches you to realize who is responsible for what, and the principles of the book should help you set the right boundaries! "I'm Okay, You're Okay" helps you understand why some people will either accept or repel your position and how to adjust your own presentation so that others are more open to you.

L.O.L.
If you'd like some advice, life actually can be better keeping your father out of your issues. For me, life isn't so bad reading the internet postings. It comes down to one less lunatic telling a Probate Judge that the family doesn't know where I am. I also feel, advisors are right when they advocate it is for a better life that you leave them behind! I am not given to walking in the shadow of sick people and blindly chanting their mantra! So, if your life is in a state of choas, best to learn "how to live in peace"--and--leave the rest to themselves and as far away from you as possible.

I can't tell you any more than my great grandfather, Ferdinand Robin, lived in a small fishing village on the southwestern coast of France. He came to Montreal, Canada to study pharmacy at McGill. After he graduated, he married a Scottish woman, they had four children and later moved to New York City. In 1992/1993, I had the opportunity to travel and lived in Montreat. It was there that I learned about the strong affinity between the Scots and French, and then developed a better appreciation for the relationship that my great grandparents enjoyed! Sorry that I can't help you any further. My own family is so shattered that I learn about my aunts and uncles' deaths through internet postings. My siblings are such loonies that for two years, they dupped the Probate Court by telling the judge they didn't know where I was at the time of my mother's sudden and fatal heart attack. Another neighbor later (unwittingly) spilled the beans before the judge that my mother called someone who knew exactly where I was shortly before she suffered her fatal heart attack. Given the family's insanity, I simply can't find out more details about the Robin family to help you.

It's funny reading your message - my name used to be James Robin ! I was born James Vincent Robin, but I changed my name to Leo James Boyle in November 1994. My Mum's maiden name is Boyle.

I've seen info about that James Robin before on the internet. If you type the name in as a search in Yahoo.com, then it comes up with his death details, but apart form that I know nothing more about him. Sorry I can't be of further help !

Colonel Robin in Albuquerque, 1955

Hello, Robins!

I am the brigade historian for the 321st Civil Affairs Brigade in San Antonio, Texas. We are working on our unit history and have noticed a glaring gap in our information. We don't know the full name of our very first commander.

Here is what we do have:

Our unit was activated in Albuquerque, NM, on 16 November 1955, as the 321st Military Government Group. All we have is that the first commander was Colonel Robin -- no first name, but was a full-bird colonel, not a lieutenant colonel. He would have been a member of the Army Reserve, at least at this time.

The second commander was Colonel Richard M. Krannawitter, and would probably have been in the unit, too, in 1955.

Do any of your Robins know of a Robins family living in the Albuquerque area in 1955 that I might contact? Do any of you know a Colonel Robin?

I'm looking for any leads at all.

Thanks,

Jacqueline Davis
1SG, HHC, 321st Civil Affairs Brigade

Arthurs's parents were Francois Simoneau and Laure Desroches. Lucienne's were Narcisse Boulet and Hermeline Robin. I have found refence to them in 4 different one world trees, but the info all seems to dead end with them. I can provide info on the descendants. Any info would be much appreciated.

I would presume that anyone of French heritage would also carry Scotish blood. While living in Montreal, I learned about the strong French and Scotch affinity that was built during the 12th century.
I am a Robin. My maternal great-grandfather was Ferdinand (sp?) Robin from a small French fishing village in south western France. He later attend McGill in Montreal, married a Scotish woman. About 25 years later, he moved his wife and ultimately four children to New York. After moving to New York, his daughter and my maternal grandmother, Elina Robin, married Alexandre deLorimier. The deLorimiers came to Canada after being awarded a gift by a French king. To this day, the name deLorimier (in Montreal) is quite well known for their historic role in politics.

I wonder if this is close to my relation. My father, Arthur Robin resides in Pennsylvania, as well as myself. I don't know him very well at all, he wasn't really part of my life. I'm now curious about his ancestry. I only know of a small portion of the family. His mother, Pauline Robin (maiden name unknown), she is Polish. My father has a sister, Annette, she has only a son as far as I know, and resides in FL. My father has 2 other children, I've never met, who also live in FL.
