lost Robins-Watson Green children?

Hello,

This is rather a sensitive matter. My grandmother born in 1931's father remarried and had I think two children. Because of the fact of the new family with my grandmother and particularly with her two younger sisters, it's a delicate matter, particularly as they didn't get on that well with their stepmother, which as someone judging from a 21st century point of view is understandable for both parties.

However, my grandmother, Jean Copus (prev. Robins) always wanted to know what her father had been like after his re-marriage after widower-ing (is that a word?) and if there are any children or (children of these children) if you get into contact with me, I would be very grateful. If you reply, you understand that this matter can be very difficult.

Nan's father was Herbert James Robins b. 1907. Only child known by name registered his death in 1986, Linda Jane Robins married Green in June 1984 in Ealing. Herbert remarried Mary Watson.

Please send a message if you know anything.

Thanks
Jeannie

Hi Gaynor...I just joined Ancestry.com and have just seen this thread. Do not know if you are still a member, but my family is a descendent of Richard Robyns of Long Buckby. His son was Thomas Robins (wife Elizabeth Parks or Parker), whose son was Richard Robins (wife Dorothy Rushall) whose son was Obediance Robins (wife Grace O'Neill Waters). Obediance came to Virginia with his brother Edward around 1620.

My family name is Robbins and we live in Georgia. I would be very interested to learn if any of my ancestors still live in Long Buckby area. Or anywhere in England.

If Gaynor is no longer on this board, is there anyone else out there who might have information? My email is robbinslori@att.net

Spoke to my father in law Norman Robins....Ian Robins' son.
Leon Henry Robins born 1867 is actually Levi Henry Robins....there wasn't a Leon born to Henry and Elizabeth Robins. I have all sorts of Levi Henry WW1 info. Including a photo of him before the war and a photo of his grave.

Also James Robins who Elizabeth Mosley never settled in Sundridge. According to Norman Robins they never left Wybridge. Only thier son Henry settled in Sundridge.

I spoke to my wife last night about this blog string.
Paul Robins (Wasaga Beach area?) who chimed in above may indeed be related. I know ANOTHER Paul Robins (Sundridge) who I've been told is not a relation, as far as my father in law knows anyway. The name of the individual who I couldn't remember in the other post is Grace Robins. (Ian Horatio Robins' daughter)

This family bible that is mentioned in the 1st post....where is it located?....There is a Robins family bible missing from Eedie Robins (Aunt Eede?) estate holdings from Sundridge. Just curious if it could be one in the same?.

Mike Reid

Hello. My name is Mike Reid. My wife is Donna Mae Robins, grand daughter of Ian (eye-an) Horatio Robins.
In a previous email Paul Robins is mentioned. He is of no relaion to the Robins family your seeking information on. Paul Robins taught me in school. I've spoken to him on this issue and can confirm no family connections to Grasser/Robins your researching.
Ian had 4 children. Levi (named after his uncle), Norman (my fther in law) Ina Brooks (nee Robins) and another girl whos name escapes me right now. She died many years ago.

I have a few photos of Levi (Ian's brother who died in WW1) Levi (the nephew), Norman and Ina.

If i can help out let me know
Mike Reid (dodosmike@yahoo.ca)
Aug 10, 2009
Their first son was Charles William Robins born in 1857. Marie was pregnant with second son in 1863 - but she died giving birth. William was at sea - Civil War?- went down with his ship? Second son was adopted by young couple - Charles was adopted by Alonzao and Lurinda Russell of Lowell, Mass. I would like to find Charles' birth records. He has been such a mystery to our family for years!!

Thank you very much Sara.
Yes that is a great help.
I have now found Frederick and Ethel ROBINS nee KENNET married in Wales UK.in 1924.
So then they traveled to Canada where Ernest was born and then to USA where Frederick junior was born.
It is possible Ernest stayed in Illinois and married Birdie nee ? I believe she died in Cook Co.Ill. in 1990.

I've recently been told a book may have been taken or sent to family members in the USA which contains information about my grandfather and his brother who researched his own ancestry of which I can find no trace before 1871. No birth certificates etc. It is possible the name ROBINS was changed from ROBINI.

Just as a point of interest Frederick and Ethels marriage is listed twice under ROBINS and ROBBINS.

Regards
David Robins

Hi Donald,

Have you DNA tested? I've seen results for a couple different people claiming to be descended from Thomas through his John, and they do not match each other.

I also know that John of VA has been claimed as being the son of Thomas of Long Buckby. While I believe it is possible, I haven't seen any evidence to prove it.

If you have DNA tested, do you know of any descendants of Obedience, (who is proved to be from Long Bucky) that have DNA tested, to know which of the claimed John descendants they may match? I descend from Obedience's brother Edward, who had no sons that survived.

I am also in Utah.

Rick Saunders

He was born in Alabama according to census info, as were both of his parents.

At some point, he and/or his family moved to Tennessee, where Tom married Amanda J Tomlin (who was born in Tennessee).

Tom's known siblings were Minnie, Jerusha Jane b.1874, Sim & Sarah P. b.1867. All I know about Minnie & Sim are that they were younger than the other siblings I have dates for.

Please, if you have any info on John Thomas, his siblings, and especially his parents it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Feel free to reply here, or to pineapple84@suddenlink.net -- Thanks for reading! Would love to correspond and compare our trees!

Frederick Trayton Robins

I am trying to find a part of my Robins family in the US. Frederick Trayton Robins, my great-uncle, was born in 1880 in Warbleton, Sussex. He moved to the US in 1912, married a woman called Marrian Ebba (surname unknown) of Swedish descent, in Minnesota. They appear in the 1920 census in Minnesota with a child called Eleanor, born in 1919 or thereabouts. In the 1930 census they had moved to Indiana, and there is a WW2 registration card for Frederick still in Indiana.

As I am based in Australia and for the rest of the family am working on English records, I don't know how I may find any more information, particularly on the daughter Eleanor and whether she is still alive or not. Any information or suggestions on where to look next would be much appreciated.
