Hello,

My 3rd-great grandmother is Reina Nunes Vaz (Robles), daughter of Abraham Robles and Rachel Robles (Pimentel). Reina is also the sister Isaac and Daniel. I have found a lot on the family and very excited to see people have more information on the family. I currently have the line going back to the beginning of the 19th century to my 6th great-grandparents. Please feel free to email me at jpr20@pitt.edu.

Cheers,
Jarrett

Yes it is relatives. Joseph Robles was a patriarch of the family and he owned from Hanna, 22nd, Sligh to 30th. He has some of his children buried there and some other family members. At the time, it was just the family cemetary. He, however, is buried at Oaklawn. My great uncle Waldo use to take care of it when he was alive and able and once in a while my dad would go and help. I don't think anyone takes care of it now.

Branciforte was the name of the Military Fort in Santa Cruz. It has nothing to do with San Jose. The coast was only the days ride through the hills to Mission Santa Clara which was the heart of the valley. Many marriages and births were done here. It also was like going to the city it was a bigger reward I think than going for a trip north to SF(Presidio) or South Monterey. Santa Clara had more food and fun! As for Nicolas being the brother, I know there were many. My uncle Ernie Espinosa was the g. grandson of Secundino Robles and was born on the Rancho where his mom and grandmother lived form 1856 fwd to 1968 near Dinah's Shack El Camino & San Antonio Road. She was Guadalupe Robles 1828-1922, she married Jose 'Trinidad' del Carmen Dionico Espinosa and had.... READY... 16 children. Tillie being the last on Sept. 6, 1881. I met her before she died in 1968 and was even babysat by the family as a child. Manmy are buried at Alta Mesa in Los Altos on the property that was on their line, over 60K acres. Govt property taxes and American squatters took all the assets and the pretty much were never wealthy. The property today would be over 30 Billion.

My grandfather was Juan Robles, his father was Refugio Robles and his father was Julian Robles. We also had Diaz in our family. Refugio's wife was Maria Santos Diaz from Ures, Mexico. Any of these names match?
