I would be grateful for any information about John H Roche and Jane Tillery. They may not have been married, but in 1925 they lived at 335 East 166th St Bronx NY and later moved to Florida, possibly Bradenton. Jane was born in England, shipped to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1889, married first husband Samuel McNair in 1891 - he died in 1904 and Jane then met John H Roche.

Please help!
Julia

That's very curious. My Johannah Roach/Roche was born in Co. Cork (I don't know what town) in 1836. Her husband Patrick Barry, also born in Cork in 1835 was a 'tailor' and their eventual sons carried on the family tradition. I would love to find information on this family in Ireland but as it stands I can only find them after they moved to Wales in 1858ish.

I can be contacted at egiuliacci@gmail.com

Hi Mercedes!
I am Anthony Roche's older sister & I just came across this board by coincidence. I just wanted to clarify that our grandfather Pedro Roche's original last name was Bermudez-Roche but when he was inscribed as with many from his generation he was registered as Roche Bermudez. All his life he lived and worked in the Central Mercedita sugar cane fields in Juana Diaz. He was originally from El Cotto Laurel. His children now deceased were: Angela (aka Guelin), Antonio (aka Tony, our father) Isabel(aka as Isa)& Pedro Jr. Still living are Juan(aka Johnny), Roberto & Enrique (aka Quique) Anthony & I have a younger sibling Lourdes from our father's first marriage to our mother Isolina Santiago Gonzalez from Salinas, Puerto Rico and a youger brother John Charles Roche from his second marriage.

Here is a picture found at an antique mall and on the back it says "Marshall Devore Roche" The photographer's stamp is in New York. After further research on ancestry.com, it seems he is the son of Francis Roche & Carrie Wade Roche. They were found on the 1910 Sacramento Co. CA census. It says Marshall Roche was b. in 1900 in Indiana. This is NOT my family and I have no further information but wanted to share this photo I found.

Elton ROCHE in Cleveland Ohio

I am looking for information on my grandfather, Elton ROCHE, born in Cuyahoga County, Ohio about 1905. His parents were Thomas ROCHE (c.1877) and Florence YOUNG (c.1877). His siblings were Thomas Jr, William, Elmer, Louis, Florence, and Kenneth--according to the 1920 Census. Elton married Lydia SEBO around 1927 and they gave birth to my mother Charlotte Lydia (AKA Lydia Elean ROCHE) in 1928. Apparently Elton and Lydia divorced around 1935 and he moved to the Detroit area.

If you have information on this family line I would appreciate it if you would contact me at gmasue27@hotmail.com.

Thanks!!
Sue

Just about all the recorded info is right on here. Your sentence got cut off in your message... You'd also like to know about.....

If you want stories let me know...I tend to want to let the dead rest, but if you have specific questions give a yell. They all had terribly hard lives rampant with alcoholism and poverty. My mother, fortunately, never drank but that exacted a tremendous cost for her, as well.

I did take a trip through South Boston a few years back and took pictures of all the houses listed on the censuses for her parents, grandparents and gr. grandparents. Lost the pics when my computer crashed so will try to take the trip again eventually (on a nice day with a picnic at Castle Island. :)

Good sources have been The Gate of Heaven Church for records of James and Abigail's wedding, Abigail and several others are buried at Cedar Grove Cem., James is at Forest Hills Cem, for records...The MA ARchives, The Dept. of Public Health for recent records but it's pricey...something like 9 bucks and hour and they really milk it by doling out four books per half hour or 45 minutes. I usually go late August. Probably won't get to any of this for a month or two but will forward anything I get as it appears. Will check with my mother, too. Please feel free to send any particular questions you or your husband might have, especially about Grace, and I'd be glad to ask my mother.

I think you're correct and don't know how much of a reunion I would expect. I've never met any of my mother's family other than her father, James, once or twice, in the late 60's even though we spent almost every weekend in South Boston at the beach or visiting my father's Aunt who also lived there. I remember him as a quiet man. Looked like James Joyce. James, Robert, Theresa, Lorraine, Joan and Grace were all sisters and brothers. They are all deceased now, except for my mother.

ROCHE - Cork, Ireland(c.1800) > Kent, England(c.1830) > NSW, Australia(1863)

Hi all you fellow Roches.
My 4x great grandfather was JOHN ROCHE, a 'Tailor' b.c.1806 in Cork, Ireland. He married ANN THEOBALD(1809) in 1823 at Westminster, London. They lived in Tonbridge, Kent and had five children.
WILLIAM(1832), MARY ANN(1835), ALBERT(1837), JAMES THEODORE(1840) & ADOLPHUS(1843).
I have also found JOSEPH ROCHE, b.c.1812 in Cork, Ireland. Also a 'Tailor', he lived in Tonbridge around the same time and his wife and daughter were in the same trade. Carrying on family tradition. I suspect he was possibly John's brother. Emigrating to a new land, they would have liked to be nearby to family. Also, there weren't many ROCHES in Tonbridge at that time, so I suspect they were all related closely.
I am trying to find names for their parents and some history of their lives in Ireland.
If anyone has anything on these people, I would love to hear from you.
Anthony

I discovered an old Irish cemetery in Livingston County Michigan that contains the grave of Michael Roche. The stone is partially buried and not that easy to read. Near him is the grave of Ann Roach and listed as the Wife of Michael, not sure there is a relationship there or not. Im including a link to the cemetery and a picture of Michaels stone for anyone interested. I am not related.

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GScid=2...;

oh my gosh...this is to cool....I am the gr. granddaughter of Ellen (nellie Smith). My grandmother is Ellen (nellie Smith. This is the missing link I have been trying to find. Nellie Roche the daught of James B Roche and Ellen Smith, married Cornelius Smith. That's why this gets so confusing. My mother(Edna Fleischman, who married Cornelius Smith's Son, my father, Newell Smith. My mother talked about and kept in touch with the Zoblocki family...the first name of Ernie rings a bell. My mother and father are both past away, but these names are very familiar to me. The Baldwin was also a name that we had been aware of but not where it fit in. James B is of course my great grandfather, and am so excited to who who his parents were. you have his fist name as Jno...is that correct or a typo. I would love to talk with you more on this, as I am just so excited about this...I stopped going to this site as I was very frustrated with trying to find this type of info, and whoa here it is!!! My name is Karen and I guess we are related! lol

ROCHE Mayo to Pittsburg or Pennsylvania 1880 ish

Edmund Roche b 1854/Martin Roche b 1856, sons of Bridget Roche and Edmund Roche of Fisherhill Co. Mayo. One of the sons, brother of my grandfather Anthony Roche emigrated to either Pittsburg or Pennsylvania around 1880. My grandfather had a photo sent from America and signed 'Fondest love from your brother' so I dont know whether it was Edmund or Martin. Anthony Roche emigrated to Yorkshire England and married Margaret Mulhearn b.1864 Swinford. Any info welcome.
