Surnames: Rocklin Rochlin Askin Locketz Snitko
Looking for info on a family of Jewish Rocklins from Russia/Byelorussia that came to US ca. 1900-1913 as follows:
-- Elizabeth Rocklin, born in Russia/Byelorussia, who either came to MN via Canada or moved to MN after marrying Louis Locketz, whom she may have met in Chicago
-- Bessie Rocklin a/k/a Paula f/k/a Pesche, sister of Elizabeth (I know, crazy for sisters to be named Elizabeth AND Bessie, assume these are Anglicizations), from Minsk/Mogilev, who came to Chicago either from NYC or Baltimore or Canada/MN depending what records/oral stories one believes, and who married George Snitko (or Smith) in Chi.
-- Philip (?) Rocklin, possible brother of Elizabeth & Bessie, possibly emigrated to MN, then moved maybe to Philadelphia?
-- two other sisters, Mary (?) and Alvenia (?) who may or may not have stayed in Russia/Byelorussia
Father of all these folks may have been Schlojcase Rocklin or David Rocklin. Name may have been spelled Rochlin at times, maybe even Rachlin. Mother may have had last name of ASKIN.
Possible divorces and mixed marriages abound here. Records, even "official" records, just don't add up. If any of this rings a bell with your family tree, feel free to e-mail me directly.
