Marion “Nana” Rockwell
Marion “Nana” Rockwell, age 84,
joined her eternal family on May 13, 2009. She passed due to complications following heart surgery. She was the oldest daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Bourne. Marion was the beloved wife of the late Harold “Rocky” Rockwell, Sr. and sister to the late Hughes Bourne.
She graduated from Strong Vincent High School and married Rocky on March 17, 1945. “Miss Nana” as she was called in South Carolina, was Nana to everyone she met. She was loved, and will be missed by too many people to mention. She is survived by her four children, Dawn Young and husband Dennis of Summerville, S.C., Wendy Romanowicz and husband David “Woody” of Harborcreek, Debbie Kurt and husband Rick of Pleasant Prairie, Wisc. and Harold E. Rockwell, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Summerville, S.C.; two sisters, Kaye Franz of Tempe, Ariz. and Colleen Howard of Riverside, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her beloved canine companion Honey. Nana requested a private service for her family and close friends and will be laid to rest with her husband of 43 years.
