William Rode is the third son of Pinnochio and might even be related to Shrek although I am not certain maybe you should call Walt Disney and see if he has any say on this debacle because you have certainly put yourself in a mess with this william character and you might wanna try calling cinderella! I see this is quite an old post but...Your Wilhelm must be a sibling to my Frederick Ludwig Roda b. 1 March 1834 Ludwigsburg, wurttemberg, germany d. 17 Nov 1892 Newago MI USA. It was in this generation that the name change to Rode occured apparently.

Have you been able to find any additional ancestors to Ludwig and Chritianna that you are willing to share?

I JUST READ YOUR MESAAGE OF 2001--GLAD I FOUND THIS. MY FRED RODE FAMILY ORIGINALLY CAMER FROM GERMANY BUT WENT TO POLAND THEN RUSSIA.
I CAN FIND NOTHING MORE THAN A BIRTH CERITFICATE FROM POLAND WHERE MY GRANEDPA FRED WAS BORN -BUT I KNOW HIS PARENTS CAME FROM GERMANY AND I DO NOT EVEN KNOW THEIR NAMES.
AS FAR AS I KNOW HE HAD NO SIBLINGS AND RAN AWAY FROM HOME AT THE AGE OF 16.
THEY WERE GERMAN AND SPOKE GERMAN.
I NEED HELP -IF ANY OF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR--PLEAE CONTACT ME AT brode1929@sbclobal.net. I AM IN HAYWARD, CA.

O.C. is pictured in the 1917 Pedagogue, yearbook of Southwest State Normal School in San Marcos, TX. He is a senior. I'm not kin but thought this might help others.

Hi,

Conrad Rode who married Clementine Schierhoff was my grandfather's (Henry Becker) fist cousin. Conrad's mother, Dorothea Becker was the sister of Henry's father, Peter Becker. Peter's parents were Karl Becker and Phillipine Dauth. Phillipine is also listed as Dorothea's mother on Dorothea's death record, but I think this might not be true. I have found a marriage record for Karl (or Charles) and Phillipine dated 30 Dec., 1847, at least five years after Dorothea's birth. I'm thinking that Karl was probably married before and Phillipine was Dorothea's step-mother. Can you shed any light on this?

looking for info on John Rode born 1881 Russia

I am looking for information on John Rode - born 1881 in Russia - immigrated to Saskatchewan Canada - married Katharina Giesbrect abt 1924 - eventually moving to British Columbia - died May 12 1963.

His death Certificate lists a Father as Jacob Rode and mother unknown.

I have been unable to locate any furhter information on either John Rode or his father Jacob Rode

Any information that you may have is greatly appreciated

Hi Shirley,

I believe that the Jacob Rode you are looking for may be my great-grandfather. My information tells me that Jacob's wife's name was Katherine or maybe Kadrina. Their Son - John Rode is my grandfather. He died in 1963 in BC Canada

If you have been able to obtain any further information or if you know that John Rode was a relative I would appreciate any info that you may have

My greatgrandfather was Conrad Rode who married Clementine(a) Schierhoff. The product was my grandmother Eleanora Rode...who married Edwin(john) Blomker..and then came my mother, Helen. Not sure if this will help you in anyway..but would appreciate any info on Conrad that you have.

I am trying to find Parents of my relative Herman Roede. He was born 1911 in Iowa?? He lived in Melvin, Osceola all his life. He is not listed in any census. I just found out that it might be Herman Rohde age 61 born in Germany. He was married to Wilhminnie(Hard to read) she was 51 born in Germany, They had one daughter listed Mary E age 18 born in Iowa.It list that they had six children I found this in the 1910 census living at Black Hawk, Grundy, IA which is near were Herman Roede lived. Hi, I'm trying to locate a listing of Prussian solders were I would find my GG Grandfather Christopher Hienrich Rode.
Born in 1828. He immegrated from Germany around 1857 and bought land in Canada, Ontario, the sent for his wife Joanna Emma (Morenz) Rode once he found and bought land. Her maidne name is Morenz or Moretz, she too is from Germany.

I recently obtained a civil war pensions file for my ggggrandfather Robert H. Keller. He was living near Sheilville, Buena Vista, IN(now Atlanta). His neighbor was Conrad Rode. Mr. Rode appeared for the deposition for Mr. Keller. If anyone is researching Mr. Rode and knows the exact location of the farm I would appreciate any info. I can also send a copy of the desposition if anyone is researching Conrad Rode.
