Surnames: Rodenbeck, Van Gerpen, Eggen
My g-g-grandmother, Hilke Eggen Rodenbeck (1850-1929), came to the U.S. around 1865 from Uttum, Ostfriesland, Germany, to settle first with her brother Arend in Pekin, IL, and then with her husband Claus Van Gerpen in Hartsburg, IL. She was the daughter of Egge Harms Rodenbeck and Antje Heyen Eggen. If any of these sound familiar, maybe we can help each other.
