Diane Francis Rodwell was my grand-father's niece.Her father, Charles Guy Dukinfield was the brother of John Platt Dukinfield, my mother's father.

We have recently re-connected with my uncle Michael in England and he has information on Diane's family.

Sorry for the delay in answering. I am currently not on the internet at home, however, I do check hotmail through my local library internet.

I would love to have a scanned copy of the letter.

Kate and Joe (my grandparents) arrived in Quebec, lived in Montreal, Quebec for a short time then settled in Toronto.

My grandparents didn't talk much about the relatives they left back home.

I would love to hear more about your great grandparents and David & Sarah Ann Rodwell.

What I have is a letter dated dec 1912 from Toronto.
I found it in my Great-Grandmother's stuff.
It was signed from Kate and Joe.
So, I expect that might be Joseph?
They would have had three daughters at that time.

My Great-Grandmother was the youngest daughter of David and Sarah Ann Rodwell from Leicester.

I have relatives, married on 16 Feb 1946 at West Kirby, Chester - Frances Diane Dukinfield to Robert Guy Rodwell. Robert was a Flying Officer living at Kings Gap Court, Hoylake. Sound at all familiar? Any suggestions about how to locate these relatives? I would be most appreciative.

I have been looking for Mary Rowan's married name for 12 years!! Finding it yesterday was so exciting. Maybe now I'll find out when she died and why. No one from that family has been alive since 1954. My mother married into it and had heard that Mary/May died young, perhaps of appendicitis. You wouldn't by any chance have heard anything of her ???? Did they have any children??

Yes, William and Maud did have a son Bertram. He went to Canada and married a Mary Rowan. I found the name of his wife on Ancestry.com. I have photos of William and Maud and Bertram's brother John Reginald (he was my grandfather). I even have a photo of Bertram's grandmother.

Did William and Maud have son, Bertrain Leonard Rodwell b. abt 1896? Because that's his parents names. If so, this son married my great aunt, Mary Sergeant Rowan in 1922 in Wentworth Co, CA. I just found her husbands name today. I need to know when and how she died shortly after her marriage. Ann Rebecca Rodwell is the daughter of Margaret "Peggy" Rodwell (nee Potts) and William Rodwell. Her brother is William Henry Rodwell, my great grandfather. She also had three sisters; Mary, Elizabeth and Nancy. William Rodwell died in Yadkin Co., NC and is buried in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Yadkin County. My father, Reginald Alfred Rodwell was born in London,7th child of Charles and Martha. Charles was head keeper in London Zoo for the Llamas. My father Reg. had Siblings named Jane, Charles (married Lillian) ,Peter, Prudence, Jack, Zac, and Violet most of the family moved to Folkestone where I was born.

i am a decendant of william rodwell who arrived in western australia on the convict ship the 'Sea Park' in 1854. He was 28 yesrs old which puts his birthdate around 1826... and his trial took place in aylesbury in 1850. although i have alot of information on him and further decendants i can not trace any information of when he was in aylesbury..family, parents ect..
dont know if this is same william rodwell but if you have any furthure info it would be great...

Looking for information on Thomas Henry Rodwell b. Oct 10, 1844, in Sheepy Magna, Leicester, England. He married Lilias Annie ? (Thomas???) on the 25th of May, 1874 location unknown. Lilias was born about 1850 in Westminster, London, England. Thomas's parents were Henry Rodwell and Elizabeth Wilson and married July 25th, 1837, location unknown.

Which set of Rodwells of Warrenton area are you referring to. My family resides in the Warrenton area and in Littleton. Your entry caught my eye, especially with the mention of Dowtin. My grandmother lives on Dowtin Street in Warrenton. Also my othe rgrandmother has keep an extensive record of family history.

For 1851 - 1868 London I have the (men's) names of
William Thomas (1851) / Edward (1853) / George James (1857) / Charles (1862) / Walter (1868) (all dates are circa)

Their father was a William payne Rodwell born c.1820 Shoreditch, (Middlesex/London)

I do not have any of his brothers or sisters yet

Margaret E. Rodwell

1912-2002

Margaret E. Rodwell, 90, a longtime Cheyenne resident, died Nov. 28.

She was born in Pilger, Neb., on Feb. 6, 1912.

Mrs. Rodwell moved to Cheyenne in 1949 and moved to Denver in 1994.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne, VFW
Auxiliary No. 1801, American Legion Auxiliary No. 6, Christian Women's
Club and First Baptist Church Business and Professional Women's
Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her children, Dick Rodwell, Sandy Schlut, Pat Nelson
and Mary Cook; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three
great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Coley.

Mrs. Rodwell was preceded in death by her husband, Francis.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Drinkwine Mortuary in Littleton, Colo.

Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are.
This is here as a lasting memorial for Mrs. Rodwell.

I know this is an old post, but I hope you are still out there. My brother-in-law descends from Herbert and Eunice: Dorothy Rodwell Lynch is his deceased Mom. I've been looking for info for him, but I've only located census so far, but I'd love to find more for him. He doesn't have a computer, but is now retired, so I told him to buy one so that he can see the world from his own home ... and locate family as well.

My great, great grandmother was Agnes Rodwell, living in Limehouse in 1872. She gave birth to a son, Henry Sidney Thomas Rodwell that year - not sure why he did not have his father`s surname yet. In 1891, Harry as he was known,was living with his mother`s brother in Bethnal Green, also called Harry,both working in the local furniture making trade.
Harry moved out to West Ham, working in the Royal Docks.

Not sure about a connection. There were lots of Rodwell's in and around Fressingfield, but I have not been able to find a connection between them and William Rodwell (my G G G Grand Father) born in Walpole 1788 and later married to a Maria Benwell and lived in Huntingfield and Heveningham. I'll reply to this if I do find a connection.

PS. Sorry for the late reply! Moving house and adding to the family, tends to put family history on the back burner.

I am researching the history of the Rodwell family who were originally Radwells. I have traced my family back to Valentine Radwell, born about 1712. The Radwells and Rodwells lived in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire until my granfather, William Rodwell became a policeman in the Port of London and moved with his wife, Elsie to Tottenham after the first world war. William's father was Charles Radwell(Rodwell), a baker, painter and decorater and duck breeder of ducks on Walton pond, Aylesbury. I knew Geraldine Rodwell. She was my mother's aunt.
I interviewed her a couple of times. One i remember was on July 4, 1977 at her home in wisconsin dells. My tape recorder was working well that night. I think i still have that tape somewhere. We mainly talked about her grandfather, Phrone Landt. She wanted me to write his story. I never did, but i'm glad she did. I only remember talking to her one more time before she died. She was excited that I was interested in our families history. My ex-wife took a picture of the two of us that day. I have nothing but fond memories of my aunt Geradldine. I never saw her as much as my other great aunts because she lived in florida, but I always enjoyed visiting with her. I wished I would have asked more questions.

I believe William married a women whose family did not approve; they had a son Theodore before William and son were asked to leave. William and Theodore came to Canada, where William married the widow Christina Marjory Little Michell. Any information would be much appreciated.

I can't seem to find the Rodwells in the 1901 Census. I Did find Alice Maude M. Seamark marriage to William Rodwell in the June Quarter (either Apr, May or June) 1882 in Greater London, Kent.

This genealogy stuff is very addicting. It's one great big life puzzle where we are always searching for that one piece.

My great great great great aunt was called Martha Rodwell nee Cook. born in Heveningham in 1808 and married John Rodwell b. 1808. I believe they lived in Fressingfield. John was the son of George Rodwell b. 1785. Is there a connection?

Many thanks, that branch of the Rodwells are my family. Alice and William are my great grandparents.
My father was called Stanley Seamark Rodwell, obviously after his grandmother. He lived from 1916-1970 and it is only recently that I tried tofind the Seamark connection and found the Fressingfield branch of Rodwells. Are you related to this branch of Rodwells? It is like a drug, once you get started you can't stop, can you?

Hello, I belive that I might have a link to your family. My name is Melissa Boyle and my 3ed Great grandmother was Ann Rebecca Rodwell. She married Zebedee "Elias" Stinson in North Carolina. Per the 1850 census her parents were William & Margaret and a sister named Elizabeth C. Rodwell. They were in North Carolina, then in the 1860 census Margaret and Ann are listed alone. And in 1870 Ann is married and her mother is living with them in Indiana. Can you confirm that your William had a daughter or a sister named Ann?

My Great grandfather is on the London census for 1901 as David Rodwell living in Bethnal Green age 18. His Father is Harry Rodwell (45) Mother Sarah Rodwell (43) and brothers and sisters Sarah (23) Harry (22) Arthur (15) Florrie (12) Frank (9) and Bertie (3)
Wonder if this Harry is your Great grandmothers brother?

My gt-gt-gt-gt-grandfather is John "Jack" Rodwell, citizen of Warren Co.,NC in the late 1700's. He was married to Nancy Waller. Any information about him, particulary his birth place, would be appreciated.
