OBITUARY / WILL INFORMATION HEINRICH HINRICH ROHWER

This is a courtesy post. I am not researching this surname. Information on Mr. Rohwer was obtained when I received an obituary from the Davenport Library on a person of interest in my research.

Source:
The Davenport Democrat and Leader (Iowa)
Monday, Feb 14, 1910 (page 11)

LEAVES PROPERTY ENTIRELY TO WIFE
The last will and testament of the late Hinrich Rohwer which was filed in the district court today by Attorney L. M. Fisher provides that the entire estate shall go to the wife, Catherina Magdalena Rohwer to have and hold during her natural life time. The wife is made the executrix of the will and is exempted from giving bonds. The instruments bear the date of June 1, 1906, and was witnessed by John Heinz and George Butenschoen.

-----------------

On this same page is the Obituary for ROHWER FUNERAL
However, some of the left side of the obituary notice was not copied and, therefore, cannot be completely or accurately transcribed with my posting. His name is spelled as Heinrich Rohwer. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Burial to be in Fairmount cemetery.

--------------------

Hope this information is helpful to a ROWHER researcher.

Rohwer - 1887 Holstein to US - Nebraska and Oklahoma

Seeking information on the Rohwer family of the Altona, Kingfisher Co., OK area. It appears 3 brothers immigrated to the US in 1887 from Holstein, Germany - Timm b. 6/1871 in Holstein, Claus b. 1870 in Holstein, and George b. 7/23/1865 in Holstein possible other brothers, Henry b. 1875 Holstein who immigrated later and a Carl in Sarpy Co, NE area. The 3 brothers (per family stories) first settled in Nebraska (possible Sarpy Co.) then moved to the Oklahoma Territory. They were there by 1900. Mainly seeking information on Timm who married Emma Grabow abt 1899. They had nine children in Oklahoma. Claus married however George remained single. Any information on this family would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have a Claus Hinrich Rohwer born Oct 28,1840 married to Eliese Thiessen born July 11,1856 and two sons Claus Hermann Rohwer April 8, 1876 and Johann Detlef Rohwer born May 29, 1880 who came to America in 1890 from Pahlen S-H Germany to Nebraska. Herman C. (the older son) as he went by lived in Cedar Bluffs and married Clara M. Paustian having a large family. I can't find anything on what happened to Johann Detlef Rohwer or their father. Eliese died in Nebraska after married two more times. One source thinks that they first came to Indiana or somewhere before Nebraska
and that maybe where Claus Hinrich died and Johann settled. Could use help.
