Hello everyone...I decided to start researching my family history, so here is my frist extension to the community. To give a little about myself I am 23 and my name is Joshua Roller and my father and grandfather are Steven M. Roller and Leo Louis Roller respectively. This part of my family is Jewish and I do know they come from Austria. I know my great-grandfather's name is Morris Solomon Roller. Beyond this I am not too sure.

My mother is a quite a mix with her father being african American-American from Arkansas, Frederick Bernard Phiefer, and her mother from a small community in taos county NM called Questa. My grandmothers name was Juliana Pabla Padilla.

Primarily looking at the Roller side and then will continue with my matertnal grandmother. My maternal grandfather's side have traced our lineage back to a slave signed with an 'X'/

Re: Roller family name

My great-grandfather is James F. Roller (I don't what the F stands for). He was born in Marion County, KY about 1857. He died June 9, 1927 in Alva, OK and is buried in Alva Municipal Cemetery. I don't know his birth parents. He moved to Pike County, IN where he married my great-grandmother (Huldah Brannan) on February 13, 1879. Their second child (Alexander Nathaniel Roller my grandfather and namesake) was born there August 17, 1883. The family moved to Barber County, KS shortly after my grandfather was born and made the Oklahoma Land Rush (Cherokee Strip) settling just west of Alva, OK. If this is the same James F. Roller you are inquiring about, I would love to hear from you. My grandfather died when my Dad (Emerson Winthrope Roller - died October 2, 2004) was 3. I just started tracing my family roots and would welcome any help from you or anyone else. My E-mail address is aroller@crpud.net. Thank you very much!

Seek data on Anna, possibly Anna Maria, ROLLER born about 1897/1898. Mother was Anna Maria Stengel, born Germany, died Philadelphia 1904. Father, Charles ROLLER, born Germany, died Philadelphia 1934. She is enumerated 1920 Philadelphia census with father and his second wife, Caroline, living at 1910 Orthodox Street. Because she is not buried in family lot at North Cedar Hills Cemetery I presume she married. She would be the only survivor of Charles Roller.

Also, heard there is a grandmother who was full blooded Shawnee Indian and may have relatives in Kentucky?
