My husband Clinton Arlyus Roods is from Fort.Edward, NY.
He is the son of Chester Roods(D) and Lola Stout Roods.
He has two brothers- Craig Roods living in Greenwich, NY, Colin Roods living in Ontario, NY and a sister, Cheryl Roods Hall, living in Ft. Edward.
Could be related?

In March (about the time you posted this) a certain "j. michael roods" contacted me about the ROODS family of which you speak. He was really busy and couldn't take much time, but his close relatives had traced the family back to Boston I think. In my extended family I have a Sarah Roods who married Martin See and they lived in Wilton NY.

Was Ira a lawyer? An Ira ROOD represented Sarah Roods' grandson in his divorce in the 1870s in a state supreme court case.

There was a Simeon Roods living in Greenfield who might have been the father of Ira /or Sarah.

Anyway, maybe Michael isn't so busy now, and you or I can drop him a line...

I'm looking for ancestors of Ira Roods. Ira was born in 1820 and died in 1910. Ira was married to Melissa Deyoe. They were from upstate NY.
