My grandfather, Thomas Jasper Roof, born 30 Jan 1881, died 24 Oct 1956, so I have no memories of him, being born in 1955. He married my grandmother, Emma Frances Pittman, 24 Oct 1900. My dad, Fred, died in 1965, so I have no one to ask about our heritage. Because I have auburn hair and brown eyes, I have been "accused" of being Irish, but this site says most of the Roof's on here came from Germany. If anyone has traced their relatives to South Carolina, and knows our heritage, please let me know.
