My name is Shelly Roofe. My dad was Lee c Roofe. His dad was Charles Roofe, mom Opal Roofe Hudson. I know Charlie had a bro named George Roofe. I have read some of the history, so wondering if there is anything on ur Roofe surname.

I am looking for info about my grandfather, born in 1861 in South Bend, Ind. He lived in Denver, Watonga, OK. Married Ida Kniver and they had 8 children between them. I would love to have more family history.

im not sure that iam related to him or not. but my grandparents are from cortez, co. and that is about all that i know about them and that my father went to school there. and im trying to find him and my grandparents both my dad and his dad were both william orland roofe.

Carol, Thanks for the info. I talked to Glenn and Lawrence Roofe one in Watonga and one of them in Texas. I was really happy to hear that there was some of the family still here. I cheked Williams death certificate and it was really confusing. They had his mother as Ida Lou Buckley and father as Edgar Roofe. Both half brothers said the fathers name was Elmer Roofe and Idalou(but not Buckley) I would love to have to have the info that you have as I can't go anywhere. I'm looking for any ancestor or decendant information on Calvin Lindsey and his wife Mary Frances Roof. Calvin was born on June 18, 1870 and died @ 1953. Mary Frances Roof was born on Jan 13, 1871 and died on June 23, 1940. Mary may have a mother named Dorthy and a brother. Mary's children are Chester, Haulde, Amos, Sherman, Alta, Claude, Lucy, Hallie, William and maybe another child, all Lindseys. They lived in the Grayson County, Kentucky area. I believe that many of them are buried in that area. The Town was or around Anetta, Kentucky. The Nolin Lake Area. Thanks. I am a desendant of William Lindsey. He is my grandfather. I am looking for any information on William Earl Roofe. He married Mary Roseta Smith in Oklahoma. His home was in Cortez, Colo. Believe he might have been born in Mo. Died in 1946-50. All of the elders have died and have no information as everything was destroyed.He might have taken the Roofe name when his Mother remarried. May have been Saunder, Sanders , Sanford,Stanford just no info. Every one knew his Mother just as Granny. HELP-HELP
