I am not researching this Rorick family, but my notes show that Bertha was the daughter of Gilbert Rorick and Grace Bell Wheeler. Also, that she married Fay P. Scott. There is a monography on this Rorick family by Warren Marsh that is available on microfilm from your local Family History Center (LDS Church). To the best of my knowledge, it does not, however, mention the murder.

AND I just found/figured out that the SAVANNAH's
tie in there twice as ARTHUR JOHN RORICK sister MADELINE married a JOSEPH KEARNS who is Billie Savannah's aunt. I just emailed him and the other Savannahs and he returned my email and told me about his Aunt Maddy who is Madeline Rorick. Joseph Kearns was Billie's mothers brother-Billie's Uncle. Billie is 79. Great guy.

Hi, everyone!

I have been researching this family and have managed to find census records, and some burial locations, but not very many obituaries. Does anyone have any for these:

Henry d. 1952 and is buried at Saint Marys Cemetery, Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania

His wife, Margaret Meyers, d. 1936

Arthur John d. 1969 and is buried at Saint Marys Cemetery, Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania

His wife, Mary Ruth King who d. in 2000 at the age of 100!

I am searching for any infor on a Bertha Rorick who in 1934 was murdered by a border John Hopkins for her interest in my Grandfather Philip Wilson Swank who Hopkins also murdered.

William S Rorick family in Austin, Mecosta Co Michigan>Canada

I am looking for any information on the William S & Cora Blandfield RORICK family. He was born in NY she in OH. They lived in Austin, Mecosta Co MI & all their children were born there. I found William & his family on the 1880 census in MI, Austin, Mecosta Co. William & Cora are on the 1900 census with their family. But not the 1910 census. Their daughter, Emma, married John W Gheseger, probably in Bonner's Ferry, Boundary Co ID about 1912. They had a son, not named on the BC in Oct 1913. Can't find them after that. I found William & Cora with youngest son George Harold on the 1911 census in Red Deer Co, Alberta Canada. Can't find anything on them after that. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Funeral services for Chester A. Roarick, 71-year old retired mail carrier, will be conducted at the home, 1607 West Colvin Street, Friday at 2 P.M. by Rev. John T. Reeve, pastor of South Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Roarick died in St. Joseph's Hospital at 5:50 A.M., 11 days after he was stuck by an automobile at Hillview and South Avenues Nov. 27. The driver of the automobile, Charles Schweitzer, 42, of 175 Parkway Drive, was charged with failure to give a pedestrian the right of way. The victim suffered head injuries.

Born in Schoharie County, Mr. Roarick was a resident of Syracuse 50 years. He was a letter carrier for the Syracuse Postoffice 35 year, retiring five years ago.

Miss Ruth N. Rorick, of Martel, and Mr. J. Grove Amos, of St. Clairsville, were married Friday morning at 9 o'clock by Rev. Raymond W. Smiley, at the First Presbyterian manse, east Church street.

The ceremony was witnessed by the mother of the bride, Mrs. Charles Rorick, and Mrs. Pearl Pangborn, Miss Pauline Spicer and Mr. Lowell Pangborn.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rorick, of Martel. She is a graduate of the Martel High School. She studied music at Ohio Wesley university and attended Ohio university, Athens, and Ohio State university. For the past year she has been employed as music supervisor in the schools in Belmont county.

Mr. Amos is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Amos, of St. Clairsville, and is a graduate of Wooster college. He is associated with the Travelers Insurance Company in St. Clairsville.

Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Amos left on a wedding trip through the East and upon their return will take up their residence in St. Clairsville

Man Gets Drunk Again While Out Getting Money To Pay Court Fine

Martin Rorick was fined $5 and costs by Mayor Troxel Monday morning for being intoxicated.

Rorick was fined a similar sum Saturday and after being permitted to circulate among his friends to raise the money, he became intoxicated on the money he was supposed to pay into the police court exchequer.

Calvin Rorick, Son of Pioneers, Gored to Death by Bull in Washington

Wilton, IA., Dec. 10. -- Calvin Rorick, former Wilton resident, was gored to death by a bull at Kennewick, Wash., according to news received by his aunt, Mrs. J.K. Fryfoyer.

Mr. Rorick was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Rorick, who resided in this vicinity many years. Mr. Rorick was about 50 years of age. His parents, two daughters, and a son survive. His wife preceded him in death several years.

I'm tring to get this straigh my relative would be Peter Rorick the house at 535 Adler first belonged to his parent. So I would be related to the Rorick side only sorry i am not of much help I have some information on the Roricks and I don't live in that area I do know that there were several Roricks on that street and that they came from Berlin Germany.
