Surnames: Roseberry, Knox
I'm searching for information about my grandfather's family. He was Walter William or William Walter KNOX, born in either 1882 or 1892 "near Owensboro" KY (although he wrote "Hardin Co." on his SS application). The best clue I have is that he wrote in two places that his mother's name was "Frances Josephine (or Joe) ROSEBERRY." He listed his father as "John Nick (or Nichols) KNOX." He may have had an older brother named Virgil who traveled with him to Alaska when they were teenagers. As for his birth year, I tend to believe it was 1882 rather than the 1892 on his SS application, as he gave me an 1882 Morgan dollar when I was a little girl and told me it was from the year he was born. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
