Roseberry Family from Belfast,Jefferson Co., Ind. and ShelbyCo.

I am interested in talking with others that are related to the Thomas Roseberry family. All I have are the Judge Norman Thompson papers-would be glad to share. Thomas, William, and Eliza Roseberry are my links plus Luella Inlow Shaw. Luella, my g. grandmother, was Isham and Eliza Roseberry Inlow's daughter. She married Joshua Levi Shaw. Have not been able to find what ship Thomas came over on in 1792. I understand he came from Belfast, Ulster Province (County Downs N.) He married Catherine Earhart and Thomas Roseberry Jr. was born on the ship on their way to America. The Roseberry family I am talking about came from Ireland, Jefferson Co., Indiana and then Shelby County, Indiana. Inlows have an interesting history also.

little to go on

Hello, I am researching my ancestry through my grandfather Clarence Roseberry, born in 1917 (d. 1984) in Autauga Co. Al to Christopher Columbus and Elizabeth Roseberry. I don't really have anything to go on. My dad was an only son and passed away April 5th, so I'm trying to connect the dots. I never knew my grandfather and so never got to learn any of the family story. Now that my father is dead I'm REALLY trying to reconnect and figure out where we all came from. No one in my family seems ot know, and I never had any 2nd cousins on my dad's side, so I don't have a lot to go on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Frances Josephine (or Jo) Roseberry, c. 1870, KY

I'm searching for information about my grandfather's family. He was Walter William or William Walter KNOX, born in either 1882 or 1892 "near Owensboro" KY (although he wrote "Hardin Co." on his SS application). The best clue I have is that he wrote in two places that his mother's name was "Frances Josephine (or Joe) ROSEBERRY." He listed his father as "John Nick (or Nichols) KNOX." He may have had an older brother named Virgil who traveled with him to Alaska when they were teenagers. As for his birth year, I tend to believe it was 1882 rather than the 1892 on his SS application, as he gave me an 1882 Morgan dollar when I was a little girl and told me it was from the year he was born. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

HELP ME FIND ANCESTORS - CHECK OUT MY NEW HOME PAGE

James Roseberry was my grgrgr grandfather. He was found in the 1850 census of Franklin County Indiana. His age was listed as 48 which calculates to a birth date of about 1802. The 1860 census of the State of Illinois shows his age as 56 which places his birth year as about 1804. His place of birth was listed as Pennsylvania. He married Mary Ward in Franklin County Indiana in 1827 and had five children with her. He married for the second time in 1844 to Martha Ann Ellsberry who died soon thereafter. His third marriage in 1845 was to Sarah Mariah Wiley (nee Hutchen), a widow with three children. Sometime after the 1850 census he moved the family to Camp Point in Adams County Illinois. When he arrived there, there were already six other Roseberry families living there. The purpose of this study is to determine where in Pennsylvania he was born, who his parents and siblings were, and what his relationship was to the Roseberry families residing in Adams County, Illinois.

Any information will be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.

Here is my Home Page Site: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/r/o/s/Robert-Rose...

Two Separate Roseberry lines in this country

Let's make that three, not two separate Roseberry lines. I descend from Alexander Roseberry born 1735 in Scotland. He settled in Shippensburg, PA and also served in the Revolutionary War. I am very much aware of the Joseph Roseberry line and the Thomas Roseberry line. If there is a connection between the three lines, I have not been able to find it. If anyone can find clues that can connect the three
lines to a common ancestor, I would appreciate hearing from you. My line can be viewed at the following site: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/r/o/s/Robert-Rose...

This is my first time on this site.....

Hello.....what a treat to happen upon this website. I have finally
concluded that the Roseberrys are Scotch and British having
noticed the name Roseberry at Ellis Island a few years ago.

My father's family lived in Atlanta Georgia. Father was James
Davenport Roseberry, born 1903. I would love to know which
Roseberry clan we are associated with....

Also, there is a David Lee Roseberry in Birmingham Alabama
who is a well known Elvis impersonator. I don't know if he's related to me or not......?

Thanks,
Carol

Trying to solve a mystery discovered at the new Arizona Vital Records page http://genealogy.az.gov/ .
My records show Niels Joseph Roseberry, Jr. and Ada Jane Echols being married, and the parents of various children. However, out on the birth certificates now posted on the website, Ada Jane had children with a J. A. Roseberry, a Joseph A. Roseberry and a Nelson Joseph Roseberry. My question is whether all three of these are in fact Niels Joseph Roseberry, Jr.

Anyone out there have any confirmation one way or the other on this mystery?

Thanks,
Jo Brown

Roseberry TN IL MO KS

Nicholas Roseberry married Nancy Snow in Ray County, MO about 1844. Cannot find them in the 1850 census although all children are listed in the 1860 census as born in MO. In the 1860 Cass County, MO census, Nicholas Roseberry (1821 TN), is listed with his children Jane (1846), Elizabeth A. (1847), Caroline (1851), Catharine (1854), and John (1856), in the household of Smith Cummins (and wife Jane Roseberry, (1833 IL)-- children Elizabeth (1853), Virginia E (1854), Mary (1857) and Robert T (1859). I've checked the index for various spellings of Roseberry, and have checked all individuals with Nicholas (various spellings) as a given name. Has anyone seen this family in the 1850 census? Also, there is a CW pension for Cathreen Rorsem?? as a minor of Nicholas Roseberry, Idaho, served S 3 Kansas Infantry. Does anyone happen to have his pension file? Is there a connection? Thank you.
