Hello, Ambrose Gordon Roseberry. I am the great granddaughter of Miles Lovett and Bertha Rosenberry. Ambrose Rosenberry would be my great-great grandfather, and her father was Ambrose Gordon Rosenberry.

Tammy, was Lawrence Roseberry your grandfather? My mother is Maxine, sister to Lawrence, Cricket, Ted, Bessie, Willa, Cora, Nel, Jimmie & Josephine (I think.) I have all this information in a small book, I just need to find it. I tried to follow the Mitchell line & the Roseberry line and since the original Court House in Point Pleasant burnt down years ago I was unable to obtain birth/marriage or death certificates for some people.

I an new to this site and don't know how to send messages but I am interested in getting more information from Elvie and Bessie Roseberry. I am told from my mother, that my grandfather's parents names were Elvie and Bessie. I remember hearing about my great grandmother Bessie. My grandfather's name was Norman Gene Roseberry, Sr. I am having trouble finding information for my family tree on my grandfather's side of the family. He passed away in 2002 and I know I still have relatives (some of his siblings) that live in Reno, Nevada. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I remember Uncle Okey - barely but there it is. My grandfather is Walter. I also remember the name of Floyd Roseberry. I believe that my mother went to the prom with him. She always tells of what a not so great night it was (they weren't involved, they just both needed a date and he was related to my mom's best friend Lila Roseberry) and how they got stuck on the railroad tracks. Some information that may help you, Gilgrest Oregon is actually Gilchrist Oregon, it's about 2 miles North of Crescent, and about 50 miles south of Bend on Highway 97. It's a small little town, as is Crescent. Gilchrist and Crescent share alot. Gilchrist houses the school, and most of the stores, while Crescent has the post office, the retaurant, motel, and the bars/taverns, not to mention the liquor store/gun store(same place all in one). Not a bad place, pretty out there. I have Roseberry's in my tree(probably not the same line, as mine came from Arkansas), and my wife went to Gilchrist school all her life.

I find all of these posts on Absolom very interesting. I am a member of the Roseberry DNA Project. I have a strong hunch that descendants of Absolom may have the same DNA that my line has. I descend from Alexander Roseberry born 1735 in Scotland. He is reported in family lore to have been accompanied to this country by a brother named William. I have never been able to prove this. There are
about a dozen posters to The World Connect project (Rootsweb) claiming to be descendants of Absolom. All posters state that his father was William Roseberry born 1730 and a few of those posters claim that William's father was Jonathan Roseberry born 1730 in Twickenham, England.

Our DNA project has proof that descendants of Thomas Roseberry Sr. born 1758 in Ireland match my DNA, as well as descendants of John Rosenborough/Roseborough born 1804 in Pennsylvania as well as families named Rosborough, and Rosebrugh. We also have a descendant of Charles Roseberry born about 1758 in Virginia who is reported to be the son of Jonathan mentioned above. All of the proven surnames have their roots in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and England. In addition, we have found two Roseberry lines whose DNA roots came from Central Europe who had DNA analysis that did not match ours. It is believed that they may have been of German or Austrian ancestry.

I am requesting that one or more of you posters to the Absolom line find a living male descendant who will volunteer to take a saliva test. I can furnish you with information on how to obtain an application form to request a DNA sample kit. I can be reached at rosebud1@sunflower.com

I had a great aunt Clara Roseberry(Cricket)she was my grandfathers sister.I am becoming confused with the Roseberry line after Millard Filmore Roseberry.I have william Hamilton Roseberry as his father then it gets murky with James Roseberry with Father John Roseberry.I am finding a few John Roseberry's I think it is either John Roseberry burried in point pleasant that was in Revolutin war or John Michael Roseberry both born around same time maybe they are the same any info?

Yes my Grandfather was Lawrence.My mother told me that when my grandpa filed for his social security they had a hard time because there were no birth records.Lawrence told my mom they were all born at home so nobody had certificates.My mom was an only child and doesnt recall grandpa talking much about his childhood.We have very little information to start with.Here is my e-mail if you come up with any info for me.brookst410@yahoo.com

Hello, I am researching my ancestry through my grandfather Clarence Roseberry, born in 1917 (d. 1984) in Autauga Co. Al to Christopher Columbus and Elizabeth Roseberry. I don't really have anything to go on. My dad was an only son and passed away April 5th, so I'm trying to connect the dots. I never knew my grandfather and so never got to learn any of the family story. Now that my father is dead I'm REALLY trying to reconnect and figure out where we all came from. No one in my family seems ot know, and I never had any 2nd cousins on my dad's side, so I don't have a lot to go on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

This is an old query but I will give it a shot. I am related to this family. My gg grandfather Thomas Jefferson Roseberry (Was he the son of Thomas? Don't have the pedigree in front of me.) married Mary Ann Ritchie. They lived in Jefferson County Indiana. I have photos somewhere.
Their daughter Margaret Catherine Roseberry married Joshua Chitwood. Family ended up in Bates County Missouri.

mom's sister Blanche was mentally challenged and spent her life in an institution in Meadville area. My Uncle Lewis (not brother Lewis) was the fist to move to California, and drew te rest to the west coast.
Grandpa was only married once that I know of.
the Henrietta would have been Edward Sr's (my dad's) step mom and she was in cleveland and probably buried in Lakeside Cem. there.
Lewis Roseberry worked for Bendix Aviation for many years.
NOT Bill or Robert as I said in my other note.
Lessie was born May 8, 1917, dad on August 20, 1905
married Juy 22, 1933, in Meadville
Gramps, your great grampa, dies in 1963 and was flown from California back to Jamestown, New York to be buried. He and gramma should both be in Lakeside Cemetary in Jamestown New York.
William Roseberry, (your reat grandpa) worked for many years on the Erie Railroad. He also worked in his old age at the Lakeside Cemetary in Jamestown, New York. He, gramdma, Aunt Jessie and Uncle Clarence all live at 8 Buffalo Street, Jamestown, NY. That was the third house on the right after you turn from Lakeview street to Buffalo Street in Jamestown, and right accross the street form the cemetary.... I know, cuz I used to go to work with him and ride on his mower as the cut the grass.
He used to let me look into all the old crypts and things.. Was ooodles of fun, and I still love to go to cemetaries and read tombstones. He made cemetaries a fun place for me and it stuck my whole life through.
I'm glad too, cuz I'll be in one soon enough, lol
