Newton Randolph Roseborough

My name is Theodore Roseborough. My father's name is Robert Roseborough. My grandfather's name is Newton Randolph Roseborough. Not sure of Newton's birth place. He was born in 1891. Died: 1968 in Azusa California. I can't trace my family back any further than this.

If there is anyone out there with more information on my family history, it would be greatly appreciated.

YDNA Tests Link Roseborough with Roseberry: Seeking Dennis Rosebrough

Dear fellow Roseborough/Roseberry/Rosebrough family members: With YDNA testing (simple saliva samples) we have been able to link several Roseberry, Roseborough and Rosebrough lines...suggesting common ancestors as far back as the 1600's and as early as the 1800's. Many of these lines are on Ancestry.com, but don't seem to know that they are linked....Male Roseboroughs/Roseberrys/Rosebrugh's should seek testing if no one from your line has yet done so. Please contact me for info on our Roseberry/Roseborough YDNA Project.

We are also trying to understand better the documentation links in Scotland between a Patrick Roseborough b 1657 or b 1756 with those of the Rosbroke/Roxburg family of 15 and 1400's....Please contact me if you have info.

Hi There,
I am looking for Roseburrough from Illinois around Fulton County. The one I am searching in particular is Wendell. I have not much info at all on him, but I do believe he was born about 1923.This seems to be a stumbling block for us, but I hope some of you may have Roseburrough family from Fulton County Illinois. I have heard from family members that a family by that name lived in Ipava or Table Grove. I have told all I know, so I am really hoping for some leads here.

You can order copies of certificates if you wish- for example, a death certificate will not only list the date and place of birth of the deceased, but the names of that person's parents and their places of birth as well.

I have an old photograph of 3 beautiful children taken at Ferrell Photography Studio in Cookeville, Tennessee. The back of the photo states: Bullington; Daisy (Chambers) children. A family member has identified the photo as Mary Audry Bullington Roseborough (born 3/1/1903), John (George) Otto Bulington (born 12/5/1905) and Paul Orville Bullington (born 1/31/1907). They are the children of Daisy Durno Chambers Bullington.

I saw the post you did to Kevin... I have ties to Roseborough's in Cuyahoga, Cleveland OH.

My Grandfather was born there
My Father was born there

Sandy D. Roseborough is my Grandfather, and from what I have been told by him and my grandmother....that name goes on for a number of Generations beyond my Grandfather. I have traced the name back to the 1850's to a Rev. S. D. Roseborough who was born in South Carolina and was a Rev. in Georgia.

May have spoke before.
I have Robert Roseborough - brother to my John Rosebrough - married to Lucy Carney - sister to John's first wife Mary Carney in Warren N.J. They left from N.J. after marriage to N.C.
So...if you haven't found the marriage yet...this is probably why. It would be at a later date, as a second marriage ...possibly in N.C. or N.J.
I'm also looking for my John...who seems to have disappeared after 1800?

My mom-in-law was born in march of 1930 and passed away april of 1994. She was raised by her grandparents whose last name was Roseborough. I believe that this was in Manitoba. We know nothing of her birth mom and would like some info. if anyone out there knows anything. Thanks so much!

My grandfather's brother was Floyd E. Roseborough. He was born in Racetrack, Montana in May 1889. My grandfather's name was Russell D. Roseborough, and they had a sister, Olive. Their father's name was William S. Roseborough. Do you think this might be yours? Let me know if you want more information.

My ggrandfather -William lived near Memphis, MO and married Harriet Fitzgerald in about 1860. He was b 1839 in Ohio and died near Memphis, MO 1925(?) If this is the line you are looking for please e-mail me.

Just saw your message - I had Roseboroughs Ggrandfather who lived near Memphis Mo. He was married to Harriet Fitzgerald 1860(?). I think he died about 1925. If this is the line you're interested in please e-mail me. His name was William. Thank you.

This is the right line. William L. Roseborough, jr. married Harriet B. Fitzgerald 10/18/1860 at Scotland Co., Mo.
He died 7/21/1925 In Memphis, Mo. They had 2 girls who died young.
I ssent 3 sheets for you. I hope that you receive them, Part of that family is still around Vale/Payette Idaho-Oregon.

I have a Daniel Cupit b. bet. 1775-1780 to a John Cupit, Sr. and Jannet (last name unknown). Daniels sister was Ann Cupit who married John C. Roseborough abt. 1793 in Fairfield, SC. Johns father was Alexander Roseborough and his mother was Jane Fears. Both were from Ireland. I also have a Jannet Roseborough born in 1780 and a Jean Roseborough born in 1782 to Alexander and Jane. My name is Leslie Barrow, and I'm the granddaughter of Samuel Lee Roseborough and his wife Bessie Mae Roseborough. I'm looking for anyone out there who may be able to supply me with information regarding the union of these two individuals. Samuel's mothers name was Rose and his fathers name was believed to be Jerry or Gerry Gentry or Roseborough. He did have a sister named Ruth who died at 13 years of age. He is believed to have had half brothers and sisters. His wife Bessie Mae (Vance) Roseborough was an only child. Her mother's name was Maggie and she died when my grandmother was 6 or 7 years of age. She never knew her father. She was raised after her mother passed away by her grandmother Janie Mae and grandfather Wade Vance. I believe they relocated to Maryland sometime around 1944-1947. Samuel was born January 22, 1914 and died March 1983. Bessie Mae was born February 3, 1919 and died February 3, 1982. For anyone who may have assisted my cousin Kevin Roseborough with information, it would be greatly appreciated if you could contact me as well with any information.

Your husband and my father-in-law are cousins! My husband's name is William Burleigh, his my father in law's name is William Burleigh, his mother was Edith Roseborough whose father was William Burleigh Roseborough, son of William Daniel.

born Dec. 13, 1820 in Chester SC and died in Sardis, MS. was
married on Oct. 27 , 1846 in York county,SC, to Elizabeth Ann Williamson, daughter of James Starr and Jane McKown (Hicklin) Williamson. They had these children in order of birth: John Calhoun, born in Chester, SC, Mary eudocia (Shands), Rev. Kevin - I saw your message. My family records show Elizabeth Ann ("Betty") Williamson marrying William D. Roseborough about 1845. They lived in York County (Bethesda/Brattonsville area) SC, but relocated to Panola County Mississippi about 1846. Apparently several grown (married) members of the Williamson family left SC together. Because Roseborough is a fairly uncommon name and because of the proximity of York and Chester counties, there may be a family connection. Does William D. Roseborough show up in your family records?

I was thrilled to get your response! I have information on James Starr Williamson. Elizabeth Ann was the sister of my g,g,grandfather, Samuel Zenas Williamson. I did not know much about the Roseboroughs, except for the Shands connection. Apparently, Mary Eudocia's husband and Samuel Zenas Williamson were close, as Mr. Shands (once lt. governor) wrote S. Z's obituary. I would love to compare notes with you sometime. I'll get out my files and see what I can plug in. Again, thanks for the information. Hope to be back in touch with you soon.

I have had to take some time off from my reasearch, but I am now back working on it. Unfortulately I have lost ALL of my files with my family history, thanks to a computer virus that caused me to reformat........ ick.. gotta love idiots with no time on their hands. If you could send me any info relating to Willis Roseborough or Harriet Lavina DeWitt, it would be greatly helpful. I have a basic bone outline of their descendents, as I have just now started this up again.
