I am slowly gaining on my Rote family search. I am hoping someone out there may be a part of the family tree I'm working on. My ggg'grandfather was Frederic Rote born June 20, 1793 and was married to Elizabeth (Betsey) Smith. They lived near Linlithgo, Columbia County NY and had 5 (possibly 6) children: Leonard born Dec 5,1817, Catherine born Sept 24,1819, Laney (Lana) born Aug22, 1821 (married to Edward Sheldon from Taghkanic,NY and moved upstate to McLean,NY) Peter born july 14,1826 (my gggrandfather) and Allen born June 14,1823.
