Ernest C. “Buster” Rounds
Ernest C. “Buster” Rounds, age 72
of Erie, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Erie on February 20, 1936, the only son of the late Ernest and Mildred Rounds. Ernie had been employed as a builder in construction for many years. He had formerly been employed with General Electric. Ernie was a very much loved volunteer at Diehl Elementary School, Joel II Ministries and the JFK Senior Citizens Center. He will be sadly missed. Ernie had been a lifetime member and officer of the Star Athletic Club
He played country music with his band, the Night Riders and with several other bands. Ernie enjoyed woodworking and his family genealogy.
Preceded in death by three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Groves Rounds and daughters Lorri Briggs Rangel (Bob), Deanna Briggs Keith (Richard); sons Kenneth Briggs (Cheryl), Jeffery Briggs (Tabitha), Matthew Briggs and Ernie’s daughter Marion Rounds; three sisters, Margie Woods (Dave), Josephine Sanford and Mary Murray (Don);
several grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and their families.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Thursday at 10 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Hal Morgan. Interment Phillipsville Union Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Erie Crawford County Burial Detail.
