Source: FHL Film 1254010; NARA film T-9-0010, page 53D. William J. Rountree, Superintendent of Education, age 37, born in Alabama, Fa: Sc Mo: SC. Wife, Sarah E. Rountree, keeping house, age 32, born in Al, Fa: NC Mo: Al; Jesse D. Rountree, son, at school, age 13, AL; William R. Rountree, son, age 9, Al; Robert M. Rountree, age 8 , Al; James W. Rountree, age 3, Al, Nancy G. Morrison, widow, at home, mother-in-law, 58, born in Al, Fa: NC Mo: NC; Florence L. Gilmer, school teaching, cousin, single, 27, born in Al, Fa: Ga Mo: Al.

James Edward Morrison, b. 3 Jun 1811, d. 1 May 1874, married lst in 1837 to Catherine Decatur Russell: Children: Mary Ellen Morrison, b. 4 May 1838; Robert Wiley Morrison, b. 27 Jun 1843, d. 15 Sep 1878,married 1 Nov 1865, Alice Rountree ( no children); William James Russell Morrison, b. 8 May 1845, d. 18 Sep 1898, married Georgia Harris; Sarah Elizabeth Morrison, b. 14 Aug 1847, d. 26 Feb 1914, married William J. Rountree, 1 Nov 1865.
James Edward Morrison married 2nd Nancy Gilmer in 1852.
Children: Rebecca Morrison married Dr. William Phillips.
"James Edward Morrison was born in Cabarrus County, N. C., moving to Alabama when quite young. He followed in the footsteps of his father in building up the church, and endeavored to let his light so shine that others seeing his good works, might glorify our Father in Heaven. For twenty years he served as Ruling Elder in the Valley Creek Church, and for many years as Superintendent of the Sunday School. He died near Selma, and is buried in Valley Creek graveyard. His son, Robert Wiley, was ordained an Elder, July first 1877, having served as as Deacon for eight years. Robert Wiley and Sarah E. Morrison and Alice and William J. Rountree were married at a double wedding. Brother and sister marrying brother and sister."

M., b. 13 Apr 1866, married Maude McKenzie; Edward Morrison Rountree, b. 16 Dec 1868, d. young; William Russell Rountree, b. 1 Apr 1870, married Ella May Roane; Robert Morrison Rountree, b 7 Apr 1872, married 1st Mattie Moore, 2nd Wiletta Morgan; James Wiley Rountree, b 2 Aug 1876, married Lucia Tarver.
"William Josiah Rountree was ordained as a Deacon of Valley Creek Church, which he joined in 1889. He served many years as treasurer of the church and also taught in the Sabbath School."
I still need to find out how Salome Evins fits into this family and if she was a Rountree.
