I have a lot of information on the family of William H. Rowsey of Old Tishomingo county, MS. According to my research, William had at least 15 children by his three wives:
Children by Amey Tucker: Matilda m. Benjamin Hancock; Elizabeth m. James A. Knight; John T. m. (1)Sarah A. Rinehart, (2)Tempy C. Strickland; Mary m. Giles Hamilton Savage; Lewis S. m. Isabella Graham; Thomas George m. (1)Tabitha H. Rivers, (2)Sarah Jane Hudson; William H. Jr. m. Alice C. Ellis; George Dixon m. Harriet A. R. Funderburg; Amy A. m. (1)James Farris Blagg, (2)Andrew Jackson Windham.
Children by Nancy Hampton: Henry C. m. Martha Elizabeth Hicks
Children by Cintha (Cynthia) Anderson: M.A. (female); Eliza J.; Tamar T. m. Orville Allen; Samuel H. m. Mary Frances Ward; Ruth Alma m. Frank Acree. (Note: “M. A.” may be Mary Annette who m. (1)Pierce Oliver Redwine, (2)Clemmont Clark Rasberry.)
The lineage of William is not known. Right now I show him as a son of Thomas Rowsey and Elizabeth Richardson, since the 1850 census shows him as age 50, born Kentucky. Other evidence suggests he was older. It appears that after serving in the War of 1812, William came to Sumner Co. TN where he married Amey Tucker in 1818. They moved on to Tishomingo Co. MS about 1833. Amey probably died before 1840, as William married Nancy in 1840 and was divorced in 1846, and then married Cintha in 1848. William’s youngest child was born in 1860, and he is not with his family in the 1860 census, so it appears he died about 1860.
Many of William’s descendants still live in Alcorn Co. MS. Others moved on to AR, CA, GA, MO, OK, TN, and TX. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I have more details if you need them.
