This family line was descendant from Bertrand Roux. He emigrated to New Orleans around 1850. He married Emilie Marie Aragon (her parents were Louis Aragon and Jeanne Marie Sarradet both of France)

I suspect the answer is simply: there are many, many different ROUX families, some have crests while others do not. And those with different crest are just simply different families.
As you probably the know, the surname is very common and widespread in France (and other countries).

I am looking for living males with the Roux surname who are descendants of Antoine Sanschagrin/Roux, son of Simon Roux dit Sanschagrin, to participate in the Roux/LeRoux DNA surname project. So far, we have discovered a highly rated DNA match between descendants of two of Simon's sons (Frances Xavier Roux/LeRoux and Louis Sanschagrin/LeRoux/Roux). We are now seeking to find a descendant from Simon Roux dit Sanschagrin's third and final son, Antoine, to see if they match the descendants of the other sons. This would clearly define the haplotype of Simon Roux dit Sanschagrin and could help other researchers in tracing their lineage back to Simon Roux dit Sanschagrin and beyond. Testing is being done through Family Tree DNA. Jan, your query doesn't indicate what sort of information you hope to find. Are you trying to identify Marie's parents and other antecedents? Or do you want to trace Marie and Arthur forward to identify their children, death dates, burial locations, etc?

Some info. there was a bit off..I did meet & have a relationship for a short time with my father! I thank my friend for trying to help though...Your great! I did find his grave and my daughter, my friend & I recently traveled from NH to PA to visit. I am proud of my self and my life! Nothing could ever change that!

Descendants of Damase Roux b.1825

I am trying to locate and get in touch with a living male Roux descendent of Damase Roux b. 19 Nov 1825 and Marguerite Perreault.

I believe I also descend from the two through their son Joseph “Onesime” Roux b. 21 Mar 1854. My great great grandfather was Onesime LeRoux who immigrated to Lake Linden, Houghton, MI. I believe he changed his surname from Roux to LeRoux upon entering the US or shortly thereafter.

I am still looking for any descendants of Arthur Roux and Victoria Lemelin. In 1930 they were living in Rollinsford, County of Strafford, NH. Their daughter, also by the name of Victoria, was married to Robert Dufour and Arthur must have been deceased as he is not on the census. They also had a son by the name of Frederick Alfred Roux. I am looking for descendants of Arthur Roux and Victoria Lemelin who were married on February 14, 1898 in Rollinsford, New Hampshire. Victoria Lemelin was my great grandmother, Mathilde Lemelin's sister. As far as I know two children were born from this union: Frederick Roux who married Fernande Turmel and Victoria Roux who married Robert Dufour. Victoria Lemelin's parents, Anthyme Lemelin and Lesie (Zelie) Nadeau, were married on February 12, 1872 at Isle Verte in Quebec, Canada. I have pictures of Anthyme and Lesie and family.

Hello Roux Family! My husband is Corey Allen ROUX (b. 1/21/1970). I am helping him trace his family. His father was Robert Charles ROUX (b. 8/3/1947 in Goffstown, NH and d. 12/31/1994 in Washington, PA). His mother is Gail Lynn BURPEE (b. 1/24/1951). They were married in Manchester, NH on 2/8/1969. His grandparents are Charles ROUX and Mary (Marie) VILLEMAIRE. His grandmother also had children with the last name GREGOIRE and a sister by the name of Elizabeth Mary KNOT that lives in Littleton, NH. We know that Corey's father lived in an orphanage, even though his parents were alive. One of Robert's brothers, William "Billy" ROUX, recently passed away. That's great information, but all marriages are registered by location. Without a location I don't know whether to look in USA or CAN. No matter what country, the minimum info needed is the state or province, and at least a county (if possible). The fact that you have a date means you may know where they were married or where a child was born. Any information could be a vital clue, especially birth locations of children.

My mothers real father was Walter Robert Roux. He was born 4/1/1919 and died 3/1973. We divorced Annette Wolff 3/28/1943. Wanted to know if he remarried and had more children.
