I have only just noticed your reply to me at the end of October, for some reason Ancestry didn't tell me! I repeat what I've just said to Paul:-
"I have this William in my Tree. He is my third cousin, five times removed! If you can give me details of yourself and your ancestry back to William & Ann (including Isaac's marriage details, his children's details, etc. down to yourself), I will gladly share with you what I have found so far. The Rowland family is very big in the Youlgreave/Middleton by Youlgreave area and it has taken me years to find what I have. Just started out trying to trace my family tree and worked back to William Rowland (born approx 1806 @ Youlgreave) and married to Ann. They had a number of children including Potter, Sarah Ann, Jacob, Isaac and James. Isaac married Mary Allen. Is this the same William as yours? I'd be grateful for and information that you'd have regarding his siblings / ancestors / wife.

I have a William Rowland born 1805 in Youlgreave, Derbyshire, but I have him married to an Ann Viney. I have the same information as Mike Toft who also replied to you. William had ten siblings, two of them, the Thomas and Jane Mike wrote about. My Thomas also married a Sarah Cook and had a daughter named Eliza/Elizabeth.

I think we may have the same Rowlands and I hope I helped you. If you need any further information, I would be more than welcome to help.

My Rowland family lived in mostly Bakewell, Wirksworth and Youlgreave all in Derbyshire. I cannot get back past Thomas Rowland (c.1715). He married an Elizabeth and had three children named William (1735), James (1744) and Henry (1748). I have not yet found much information on them and I have struggled to get further back and find out who Elizabeth was. Thomas was baptised 18/01/1715 in Wirksworth, William was baptised 05/11/1735 in somewhere in Derbyshire, James was baptised 27/12/1744 Derbyshire and Henry was baptised 18/11/1748 also in Derbyshire. The only one that I know married was James. He married a woman named Jane Clark and they had eight children that I know of.

I have looked on lots of different websites including: Genes Reunited, familysearch.org and of course Ancestry, but none have seemed to be much help.

I would be very grateful for any help you could offer me.

Can you please tell me if Henry had a son Wm. bc 1730-35? Could he be a brother to Rueben Rowland? Both of Laurens Dist., SC.
Wm. had a son named Andrews. I thought he might come from a mother named Andrews.
We also have a lot of Thorntons who married into this John Fowler bc 1635, to VA 1653, d 16883, line from Henrico Co., VA. Any knowledge would be appreciated. Thank you, Becky.

Looking for any information on Jacob J. Rowland and his wife Carrie Reed Rowland. Family history says that either
Jacob, his father or his grandfather was from Nebraska and was married to an Indian. I have looked through census records in Ohio, and have searched the death records in the Ohio historical Society, and could not find Jacob or Carrie anywhere. They were married in 1888 in Washington Co., Ohio. Jacob was born around 1867, and Carrie was born around 1870. Thank you for your help.

Ivy Judd's mother's name was Emma Therese Rowland. Her father is the same Henry Rowland related to you.In Ivy Judd's notes she had a visit in 1979 from her mother’s nephew, Albert Rowland and his wife, from Montana, plus his son and daughter-in-law from San Jose. It was the first time she’d seen them in 40 years.

looking now for Albert Rowland of Montana or his son, first name unknown, but Rowland, of San Jose in 1979, and see if they have any information or photos about Emma Therese, Albert’s aunt from Sweden... Because we are doing a biography of Emma Therese’s daughter, Ivy Judd Duce.

Samuel S. Rowland married Eliza Jane McPherson.
Two Rowland brothers married two McPherson sisters.

Elizabeth "Eliza" Jane McPherson's parents were:

Alexander McPherson, 1797-1859; and
Serena Johnson, 1800-1876.

Thomas and Elizabeth [Alexander] ROWLAND are my grt grt grt grandparents. I believe Thomas A. ROWLAND was born in 1795 in Kentucky. Elizabeth about 1802 in Kentucky. They married about april 1820. He died 7.26.1870 in Mercer CO, Kentucky. She died on october 10, 1874.
Her father is PVT Isaac Alexander. He served in the Rev. War.
My grt grt g/father is their son, Robert A. ROWLAND and wif

I've done some research since my last posting. Thomas and Elizabeth (Alexander) ROWLAND are also my GGG Grandparents.
Thomas was born 22 Oct 1796 in Mercer County, Kentucky. I have the same date of death. Thomas married Kathryn Elizabeth Alexander on 09 May 1820 (Kentucky Pioneer Records 1800-1870 - Register 1, page 254).
Kathryn Elizabeth was born 14 Sep 1802 in Mercer County, Kentucky and died 18 Oct 1874. Both Thomas and Kathryn died in Boone County, Missouri and not in Mercer County, Kentucky. They migrated from Kentucky to Missouri and many of their children were born and raised in Boone County, Missouri. My GG Grandfather was Lafayette Rowland. He died in 1927 and my grandparents spoke of him on numerous occasions. He was a brother of your Robert Rowland. I was also born in Boone County, Missouri and visit the area each summer. I have photos of Robert & Olive's gravesite if you are interested.

Thomas Rowland born Indiana (1900 - Census Nov. 1861) Tombstone says 1860 died April 7, 1937 in Paris Jennings County, Indiana buried Nov. 10, 1937 (noted in my great grandmothers diary). Wifes name Viola my greatgrandmother called her "Ole" in her diary, she was born in Ohio. Both Thomas and Viola are buried in the Coffee Creek Baptist Cemetery, Paris Crossing, Jennings County, Indiana. I found a tree on Ancestry that has his parents as Isaac Holman Rowland and Eliza Jane Hildreth and his wife Viola as Viola A Chapman. I show an Isaac Rowland buried in the Cave/Dixon Cemetery in Paris, Jennings County, Indiana with birth and death dates of b. June 14, 1836 d. Aug. 4, 1905 he was a Pvt. in Co. C, 52nd Indiana, Infantry, during the Civil War. His wife Eliza J. Rowland is buried beside him. b. Aug. 16, 1835 d. Dec. 10, 1917 age 82. The Rowlands were a prominent family in Paris and I keep coming across information on them, wondering if anyone is researching this line?

I am looking for Alfred Long and wife Sara Ann Dickson, and second wife, Ann Hampton. They are supposed to be buried at Dixon Church Cemetery in Crawford Co, GA. Some of thier children are also supposed to be there.
I have seen the Dixon Church Cem listing, but none of them are listed there. I s there an Old Dixon Cemetery in Crawford Co?

John Victor Jack Newton Rowland was my dad. all the rest were my aunts and uncles.

Hello, I am a descendent of William Rowland brother of Hugh Mortimer Rowland. Hugh's family consisted of 3 daughters and 1 son. Only 1 daughter had children (2) and neither of these had issue so I am afraid that branch of the family has now ceased. I have a little information about Hugh and his forbears and family.
