My dad and I decided to try to find my gggg grandfather, George Royer b.1776 d.1876, head stone. George was said to be buried at Tunker Semetery located in Whitley Co. Indiana. We looked all over and could'nt find it. I desided to check online and found,"Royer George — born August 8 1876 died June 10 1876 1948 lists him as George Roger Bills — Tunker 5-1" I was more than a little dissapointed. George Royer played a very important role in indiana history. His grandson had wrote that he had served under General Anthony Wayne, clearing some of the first trees in and around Fortwayne Indiana and drew a pention from serving in the war of 1812. The stone there was a newer stone. Im guessing the DAR in Whitley County IN had replaced the stone after they took it over in the the 1940's Would like to fix it sometime. I didnt know if anyone had found that grave error or had known of it.
