John Tinsley Rucker was the son of Mastin Hines Rucker and Martha Dunaway or Dunnaway. John Tinsley Rucker had the following siblings: James Asbury Rucker d 1865 civil war; Matilda Jane d 1847; Martha Ann Agnes m Henry Nelson Pike County GA; Anna Eulalia Rebecca Rucker d 1864; and Emma Villulia m Oscar Allan Steger. Maston Hines Rucker was the son of John Tinsley Rucker b 1793/4 and Mary Ann Hines b 1799 both in Georgia

Hi. My Ruckers also came from the Shelby area along with Henry County. My great grandmother was Josephine Rucker married to Newton Hazlet (Haslet). I believe part of the county they lived in was called Christian County?? I know their children were Bertha, Carmen, Marion and one more female but can't remember her name. Are any of this line familiar to you?

Do you know where in TN Daivd Rucker was from? I have census records that show conflicting information (TN and MS)and my mother wasn't sure either.

Do you have any records for when he served as a Buffalo Soldier? I had done a lot of research before my harddrive crashed. I thought I had found an actual pension record of money being sent to Ida Perry Rucker. I do not have that now.

I have also been told that he worked on the State Capital Building in Austin but I have not located any records.

Are you related to Cecilia Rucker Collins?

David Rucker was born into slavery on Dec 15, 1846 in TN. He moved to TX as a child. He married Ida Perry Rucker on March 13, 1887 at the age of 41. They had 12 children. He was Buffalo Soldier until 1870 and served in Indian Wars. He also helped build the State Capital building in Austin TX.

He was GG Grandfather. Contact me if you would like more information on the family.

"Old residents here received with interest the announcement that General Daniel H. Rucker , U.S.A. retired, and more than 96 years old, but still in the enjoyment of his faculties, was notified lately by a life insurance company that under its rules he was dead and the company was ready to pay his policy in full. General Rucker denied that he was dead, but accepted the payment."

I am reply to you because my Father's name is Earl Rufus Rucker. I have noticed that the Ruckers tended to pass down names. My uncle just recently told me that the Ruckers in Texas had native american ancestery. Hopefully you will receive this message.

My grandfather, Charles Raymond Rucker, was born in Texas around 1902. I am unable to find any information about his parents. He was also very light-skinned.

My grandfather was Corneilus Rucker, wife Madge Kline. They always lived in Rolla,Arkansas.
Rolla is 12 miles from Malvern, 20 from Hot Springs and aprox. 50 miles from Little Rock.

I need to make some corrections to my previous comments: My dad and his dad spelled their name with a "G" instead of a "J" , thus it would have been Geter Rucker. My granmother's maiden name was "Holbrook" not "Holcomb" and the former mayor of Atlanta's name was Maynard "Holbrook" Jackson. Please let me knowif this helps connect this family to yours. we may be related. my family hails from commerce ga. my great grand father was Hairston Rucker from Commerce ga. My grandmother- his daughter lived in Winston-Salem until her death in 2005. Am looking for the parents of Isaac Rucker born either in 1797 or 1800 ( have heard both). He married Nancy Wood in July of 1819.They had nine kids and migrated to Illinois where they lived on a farm 7 1/2 miles southeast of Carlinville in Macoupin County. He died in 1838, from what i do not know.

I just stumbled upon your message about the Rucker mausoleum and the Fielding Rucker buried just outside the mausoleum at the old Oakland cemetery in Atlanta. Is Louisa Stallings also buried there? Is there anything on Fielding Rucker's tombstone to indicate that this Fielding is the same person as the Fielding who married Louisa Stallings?

I'm not a descendant of this couple, but Louisa is part of my Stallings family and I collect information about all of them.
