Alexander Rudder sold his land to John Gilliam,as recorded
in the June Court 1750. His wife, Hannah, relinquished her
dower right. This would indicate that his estate would most
likely to to his heirs. A few years later the "Rudder"
brothers, Alexander, Samuel and Epaphroditus appear in
Lunenburg County and since no records have been found to
indicate that they were immigrants it is my belief that
they were the sons of Alexander of Charles City County VA.
Most of the Charles City County records were burned and
our only hope is to connect this family through other
means, such as marriage records etc.
