Rudolph's from Austria

Susan Thompson  (View posts) Posted: 17 Jan 2000 10:53PM GMT
I am part of the austrian lineage. Here is what I know: My great grandfather was Lynn Divine Rudolph born 7/21/188. His parents were George and May Rudolph of Michigan. My grandmother says George was descended from a Duke and Duchess of Rudolph lineage of Austria that fled during a political uprising. Any info on any of that? I have a picture of my Great Grandfather, he looks much like Winston Churchill :)

Rudolph's of Hess Cassel Germany

Fred Carroll  (View posts) Posted: 18 Jan 2000 5:56PM GMT
I would be interested in the Rudolph line you have. I am stuck at my Great Grandfather Vincenz Rudolph of Hess Cassel, Germany. His son Conrad Peter Rudolph emigrated to the US and live in Hazelton, PA and West Haven, Ct. Any help would be appreciated.

Rudolph's of Austria

The first Rudolph I have is Leopold Rudolph born 1772 in Austria. His wife's name was Anna Catharina born in Austria. Know of a son named John Caspar. He was born 1788 in Austria also. There were likely more children. I did find Leopold and wife Anna Catharina with children Anna Elisabeth, Caspar, Anna Maria, and Maria Catharina listed in the Pennsylvania Foreign Oaths of Allegiance. They came to this country around 1800. We do have a rumor in our family that they were also part of the Austrian royality. But nothing has been found yet to comfirm this. If any of this makes a connection with you let me know.

Rudolphs of Austria.

Hi Linda, This matches my family stories of Austria royalty and arriving here in the early 1800's. I don't have much information, and nothing about Pennsylvania. My grandmother is 85, and I visit her every other week and try to get her to remember any stories. Her father (Lynn Divine Rudolph) was born in 1880, his father is George (I don't know a middle name)
I do know that George was born in Iowa and had a sister Elizabeth. She married aFrank Adgate in Michigan. She and her husband raised George's son (my great-grandfather) as George's wife May died in childbirth. George was a merchant (my grandmother seemed to remember something about he may have been a trapper.)

Let me know your family line maybe I can help. There were 3 different Rudolph families, from Germany, in Nova Scotia, Canada in the 1700's.

Rudolph's of Hesse Cassel

My Rudolph ancestors were from Hesse Cassel. Three brothers emigrated to the US in early 1850's. I would be interested in swapping gedcom files if we could find a common ancestral link.

Possible Link

Would be very happy to trade GED files. Been searching for years on this side of the family. Email me at acwiz@mindspring.com and I will send you the file.

Rudolph crest and tree

Jillian Rudolph  (View posts) Posted: 14 Feb 2000 12:14PM GMT
My name is Jillian Rudolph and my grandfather
is Jean Rudolph. I have the Rudolph tree going
back to France where the Rudolphs hooked up
with the Roserens.
As for the crest, my grandfather sent me a book
called The World Book of Rudolphs published by
Halberts Family Heritage.
The coat of arms is described as "divided
chevronwise blue over red; a silver curved
chevron placed over the division."
If you need any other help feel free to email

CathyLee:
My search is in the line that I can take back to Samuel James and Mary Boyd (Boid?) who were in Shelburne. They were married in 1851 in the Parishes of St George and St Patrick but I am unsure if they were born in Nova Scotia or England. Would you have any information on them or their parents? Thanks, faye
