interested in your posting!! My late husband's great-grandfather, Adolphus Rudolph, came from Germany during the same general time period. I have no idea about siblings, but had heard they were from the area around Magdeburg, but I haven't verified that yet. My late husband's first name was Raymond, and his grandfather also had a son named Raymond who died at an early age. Found it interesting that you have a Raymond in your group, also. I will be away from home for several weeks (6/10-7/21), but when I get back I can get in touch with you again, if you think there's a chance of relationship here... I'll file your posting for future reference. If you would like to reach me, my e-mail address is midger@twcny.rr.com. I do have info from census' that they came from Cherniga, Russia (Ukraine) in 1886. Meyer's father was Mendel and mother, Annie/Anna. They remained in New York-Brooklyn for the most part.

Unfortunately, there is no genetic relationship connecting any Rudulphs with either Billy the Kid or Jesse James, although Milnor Rudulph was the Chair of the Coroner's Jury on July 15, 1881 that investigated the circumstances and cause of death of Henry McCarty, alias William "Billy, the Kid" Bonney in Fort Sumner. This is well documented. Milnor and family were living in nearby Sunnyside in 1880-1881, and are listed in 1880 Federal Census in that place.
Will appreciate any help you can provide.
Mailing address Dr. Bob Stahl, Arizona State University, ASU BOX 1411, Tempe, AZ 85287-1411, 480-695-6312.
Thanks
Bob

Just thought I might shed some light on the subject. I'm a Rudolph living in Nova Scotia Canada, trace my heritage back to Johann Rudol"F" arriving in the Country (Lunenberg, N.S.) in 1752. Although in Germany his family previouslly spelled the name with an F, our English Gov. officials anglosized the name to the more familiar English spelling of PH. Far from it being any dramatic story of hiding nobility, it was merely the typo of uneducated Gov. officials, who were unconcerned with the Protestant settlers they were bringing in, solely to offset the numerous French/Acadians/Catholic presence in our area.

My family is a direct descendent of Elizabeth Rudolph listed in the following 1850 census in Kensington. Our branch of the family remained in Kensington until the 1960's and then moved into the suburbs of Philadelphia.

You can find the Rudolph's of Kensington in the 1850 US Census all living on Lawrence Street near the Delaware River.

Joseph (born 1797 Phila)- Cooper (barrel maker)
Susanna (born 1801 Phila)
Children:
Charles (18)
Elizabeth (27)
Henry (6)
John (21)
Martha (10)
Susan (12)

I imagine your family must have some link to them. The senior Rudolph's moved to Salem, NJ in the late 1890's. My grandmother also always told us that we were related to Francis Pastorius the founder of Germantown.

I have hit a brick wall for many years now. My maternal g-grandmother's name was Mary Elizabeth Rudolph. She was born in Sandusky Ohio to John and ?? Rudolph in 1875. She is listed in the 1900 Census as living in Detroit as a servant to the Bennett family. She married my g-grandfather, Irwin Henne in 1901 and died in Lima Ohio in 1961. Any help to help find her mother or track the Rudolph name back further would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance

my great grandfather William Rudolph came to America in abt 1889...and married my great grandmother Clara Firstner in Ohio ...then they moved to NYS...first to Erie County, then to Chautauqua County. After the 1910 Census, I lost track of William...as the 1920 and 1930 Census' are contradicting...the 1920 says that Clara is a widow, and the 1930 says that she was divorced.
they had Raymond, Sabina (married name Tyrrell), Hazel, Gertrude (married name Morey), Henry and Charles. Most of the kids stayed in the Dunkirk Fredonia area, Ray moved to Springville NY and for a while Gertrude lived in Florida, but moved back to Fredonia.
I'm not sure who Raymond married, or if there were children.
Sabina married Campbell Tyrrell of Canada and had only one son named Richard (who may still be alive) and at the time of her death, she had three grandchildren in the Buffalo NY area.
Hazel is my grandmother, so I'm aware of all of her decendants.
Gertrude married Wilbur Morey they had a son Edward, who died in 2002. and a duaghter Constance who may be alive, I'm not sure.

if any of this sound familiar to anyone, please contact me.

Also...I'd like information on William...his parents, where he is from. and Clara...her parents...etc.

My great grandfather came from germany (not sure where)...his name was William Rudolph, came here in abt 1889. he was born in germany in 1872. In approximately 1893 he married my great grandmother Clara (maiden name either Rosnow or Firstner and i don't know which)... they moved from Ohio to Evans, Erie County, New York; then to Dunkirk, Chautauqua county, NY...somewhere between 1910 and 1920 William drops out of the time line...i think they may have been divorced...but i'm not sure. they had 6 children, Raymond, Subina (spelling is fuzzy on census),Hazel, Gertrude, Henry and Charles. When raymond passed away he lived in Springville, Erie county, NY. Both Hazel and Charles lived in Dunkirk their whole lives. However, i have no knowledge of what ever became of Subina, Gertrude or Charles. Also...i don't know where William came from or who his parents or siblings etc. where. Any help is appreciated...and hey...who knows...we could be cousins!!

I got back to my great grandparents...on my father's mother's side...and i'm stuck.
My Father was William DiLorenzo, His mother was Hazel Rudolph DiLorenzo, her parents were William and Clara Rudolph. William was born in Germany around 1870 (i forget...it's in my tree though)...and Clara was born in Ohio, and i don't know her maiden name. nor can i find out much else information about their families beyond their children. in 1890 they lived in Evans NY with their eldest son, Raymond who was born in 1895, then moved to Dunkirk NY and had their other children, such as gertrude, Henry, Hazel, Subina (or Sabrina), Charles. and other than Charles Marrying Elton Williamson (who recently passed)..I don't know anything else (unless it's in my tree...a few SS Death records and a few Censuses)...but if any one knows of William...and his parents and his family...that'd be of great help!! thanks.
