Susanna Rudy, b 6-27-1811, m Christian Buch/Book

Looking for parents of Susanna Rudy, b 6-27-1811. Family Bible says she was "born in Coleraine Township of Swiss parentage." However, searches at Lancaster Co Historical Society and Lancaster Co Mennonite Info Center did not turn up records on her. Reviewed tax records for Coleraine Twp from 1810-1830 and found no taxables with surname Rudy, so she was from elsewhere.

She married Christian Buch/Book, an immigrant from Germany, abt 1834. They lived in Salem NJ from at least 1850 until their deaths in the late 1890's. Does anyone have info on this family?

hello, my name is Shirley Reedy. It has been spelled Rudy on lots of records, but actually it is Reedy. I have a John J. Rudy/Reedy born in 1865, but his wife's name was Irvie. probably not him but thought I would throw it out. Irvie was a widow in 1920 and she died in Totten, Lonoke county, Arkansas. I have been searching for nearly 40 years and anything I get, I try to run it down. Sometimes it fits and sometime it doesn't. Just thought I would reply
Good luck
Shirley

Hi, I live in a house built in 1910 in Middletown, MD by William L. Rudy who was married twice, first wife to Mary E. Cost of Lovettsville, VA ( 1868-1898) , then second wife Rose C. Coblentz ( 1868-1898) If your grandfather was related to them, perhaps i own the house he was raised in. I am renovating the fireplace currently as the one we found here 10 years ago was 1950s brick...so I found a wonderful antique tiger oak mantlepiece with hand carved roses for Rose Rudy whose house is giving me great joy. I wanted to put something of a time capsule together behind the mantelpiece so that future generations could know a bit about this old home.

Hi,
I don't think he had any children. I only remember him
and his wife who I think was Anna. There are also
Zello's involved somehow in this family but I don't have
a clue. They lived in MckeesRocks, Pa. a suburb of
Pittsburgh. I only know of his sister Anastasia, who
was my grandmother, but he may have had other
brothers and sisters, because another family name
was Grieb in New York. Sorry but thats all I know.
Carol

Hello Carol Fay, My name is Avis Shaw. My mother was a Rudy. Her father's name was Ellis E. Rudy and his father's name was Isaac Rudy. They were from the Huntingdon County area. Do you know if Andrew Rudy had any children that moved to this area and if so what were their names? I have some info on Isaac rudy but cannot find his father. Maybe we can help each other. Thanks fo any info. Avis Shaw

Sorry, I don't get to work on Genealogy very often anymore.
John Bernard Rudi was born March 29, 1773 in Lancaster Co. and Baptisted at teh First Reformed Congregation at Lancaster, PA. His parents Jacob and Suzanne Jungblut Rudi were married on March 15, 1768 same church. Their other children were Christian b. May 12, 1786, M. Magdelena b. July 25, 1788, Barbara b 1790 and died 1882 married William Rowe. I am sure there are other children, but those are the ones I have found through births or baptism. Bernard and Christian went to Westmoreland where they have a few children baptised.

At this point I have no idea who Jacob's father was and I haven't had time to really search either.

Sorry again this took me so long.

A new book "So Close from Home, the Legend of Brownsboro Road" by Lynn Renau has just been published. Among the families it covers is that of George Rudy and his wife, Catherine Hoke, who moved to Jefferson co from York co PA in 1795 with 8 of their 9 children plus his son, George Rudy Jr. by his first marriage. Their children were Daniel, Henry, Susanna Rudy Herr, Jacob Augustus, John, Lydia Rudy Edwards, Frederick Daniel, and Elizabeth Rudy Edwards. It is extremely well written, a social history of the land and the families from the French and Indian War land grants to the present of the area that became the city of Windy Hills, a suburb of Louisville. The index is 20 pages and there are many photos, maps and documents included. It is only available from the museum shop at Locust Grove historic home http://locustgrove.org/museumstorebooks.html

What years were these Rudy's born? My Rudy's start in Lancaster Co. PA, but there are so many I don't have dates or places for yet. I don't list a Barnhart, but that doesn't mean anything. Do you know or have an idea who his father was? My whole family starts with Hans Ernst Rudy b. abt. 1657 Duhren, Kraichgau, Germany. and I only have one child listed for him (my 7th Great Grandfather).

It would help if you listed the birthdates you have for your Rudy's.

Thanks,
SB

My mother's parents were from Pobotchnaya Russia. She was born there and emigrated with them in 1913. Their last name was Rudy. I have found no reference to a Mary Wilhelm except through my father's family, the Schlagel's who were from Neu Messer. There was a Mary Elizabeth Wilhelm, from Schoendorf Russia, who was married to Carl Schlagel. You can reach me through my e-mail address, if you desire any additional information I might be able to share.
vrobinson000@centurytel.net.

How lovely to find you! I was on the phone last night with cousin Suzanne Apanavage who still lives in the old family house in Mary-D. She is only 3 months older than I am and we've kept in touch since we were 7 years old. Her mother Anna however, was not a twin but I can't remember Julia's twin name...I want to say Emily..but I don't think that's it. I have taken only one trip back to PA in 1992 and met both of the twin sisters then. Yes I would be interested in any photos or stories you have...I have a "Bunch". My email addy is suzanna@schipperconstruction.com. Best, Suzanna

I am Michael's daughter and only child, Suzanna Lenora Rudy. Mike or Mickie as he was called, left PA in 1947 for California and married my mother Lenora (Eleanor) Harvey. Are you Mary Rudy's grandchild? Mary was the oldest of the 9 children of Stefan (Steve) Rudy and the only "Rudy" daughter. My grandmother, Suzanne then married a Mr. Novak? and had four more children. I have a cousin, Suzanne still living in Mary-D that I keep in touch with. Her mother, Anna Apanavage, now deceased, was my dad's half-sister.

I am trying to find any Rudy families who were Germans but lived in Russia, probably Pobochnoye, (Pobotschnaja) Saratov, Russia.

I would be interested in any information whether large or small, and, hopefully, we could share quite a bit of information.

One particular Rudy would have been married to Elizabeth Wilhelm on 26 Dec 1902 in Pobochnoye (Pobotschnaja), Saratov, Russia.

They were married 13 years and probably had children together.

Thank you.

Yes, I am Mary Rudy's granddaughter, Deborah. Mary moved from Mary-D, PA to the Clifton, New Jersey area in the early 1920's where she met and married an Irish immigrant from England, Thomas Brannon. They had seven children and my mother, Eileen Brannon (born 1934 and now deceased) was their youngest daughter. Mary died when my mother was 14 years old. Your grandmother, Suzanne married Lawrence Novak and I believe Anna Apanavage had a twin sister named Julia Bubel, also deceased. I have photos if you are interested.

Hi,

I'm at a dead end looking for information on the ancestors of a Lavina/Levina RUDY, b. 1813 PA, d. 1909 West Earl Township, Lancaster County, PA and m. Jacob WOLF in Brickerville, Lancaster County, PA in Reiher's (Zion's) Church in 1832.

Lavina and Jacob are buried togther in Brownstown Evangelical Cemetery, Brownstown, PA and built the Brownstown Mill / Wolf's Mill there in 1856.

The marriage record is the only place I have found the surname RUDY for Lavina. I have zero leads on her parents or siblings. Anyone with possible information on Lavina or other RUDY family living in Lancaster County or especially Brownstown around 1800, please contact me!

Joseph Rudy of Dauphin Co. PA b.bet. 1761 and 1770 d. bet 1830-1840

Hi! I'm looking for any information on Joseph Rudy. He is listed in the Dauphin County Censuses of 1800, 1810, 1820, and 1830. According to the 1830 census, he was born between 1769 and 1770. I believe that he died between 1830 and 1840.

I am trying to connect him up with my line of Rudys. My great-great grandmother was Annie Rudy, daughter of Jacob Rudy and Matilda Musser. Jacob was the son of Jacob C. Rudy and Elizabeth Mader. This family was located in Union County, PA from at least 1840 on but I believe that the Rudys, like the Maders, are originally from Dauphin County. I have a hunch that Jacob C. Rudy is the Jacob Rudy in the 1830 Dauphin County cenus. I believe that Joseph might be Jacob C.'s father.

I am looking for ANY information about Joseph Rudy or other Rudys from Dauphin County. Any help is greatly appreciated, and I am more than willing to share all the information that I have.

~Kristin
kristingessner@lycos.com

Hi, I am also looking for the Rudy clan. I have been trying for 3 years and have had little success. I have some of them in Huntingdon County. I think they were German. My mother was a Rudy. She has been dead for 29 years and there is no one that I can ask. I have some names if you would like some of that info that I have. Please let me know because there are quite a few. Avis Shaw - cpaw.avis@verizon.net
