Help Rugh family members! I have a house owned by a Jacob Rugh in 1886. Later sold to a santry in 1888- The house is a solid limestone structure unique to its location- Ellsworth Kansas. I am trying to find out this mans history and family. Legend has it in ellsworth that the home was a cowboy boarding house, or a stop or station for the pony express. It is very close to historical trail ruts. The house is said to look German by design. There is a leaf carved into the solid limestone crown stone above the door that must have some historical or religious meaning. Any help is appriciated!!
