A few new Ruickbie items

Classification: Death
Surnames: Ruickbie Tait
Hi,

I pass along a few new discoveries within the OPR death and burial records.

Transcriptions from actual images:

Hawick - 1836 - " Jan 24 Jane Ruickbie spouse of dec. James Ruickbie (poet)

This above confirms that borders poet James Ruickbie was married at least twice.

**

Peebles - "Isabell Tait spouse to William Rubbee servant in Foulage was buried on Saturday March 25 1786"

Peebles - "William Rubbie son to Alexander Rubbie was buried on the 4th of May 1820...."

The above two items confirms the death dates of William Ruickbie and his wife Iasbella Tait. The "foulage" is seen in other OPR records concerning the couple. Plus - Willaims father is identified as Alexander.

**

Traquair - 1820 "June 13 Agnes Ruicbie, Traquair"

Agnes was born to William & Isabella on Oct 2 1773 - and appears to have died a spinster.

**

Many questions answered and the brick wall of Williams fathers name is broken.

Regards,

LarryR
