I have that Adam was born in PA about 1770 and that his father's name was Adam as well. I was told the Sr Adam was born in Germany. There is a Stull book out there somewhere. Parts of it were online at one time but now I can't find it.

Rishangles, Creeting St Mary, Debenham and Stonham Earl are all very small hamelts with only a few houses there today. The church at Rishangles is now a private house.

We seem to be related. My father was William Harry 1900-1955 and was the brother of Charles. Their parents were Edwin 1866-1938 and Elizabeth Bloomfield 1868-1962. Other siblings were Edith 1893, Eleanor 1895, Elizabeth 1896, Ethel 1902, and Benjamin 1910. All we know is Charles emigrated to Canada initially and then to Seattle, married a Norwegian girl and had a son called Chuck. I have traced the Runacres family back to 1660 mostly in Suffolk and Burton on Trent.

I've found a marriage in Occold between John RUNACRES and Sarah WILDING. 16 Apr 1834. I'm assuming this could be the same couple. What do you think? The closest village is Thorndon, followed by Rishangles.
Rishangles to Creeting St Mary is about 13 miles, going through Debenham and Stonham Earl.
I don't know much about areas in Suffolk. You could look at: http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/creetingas.html
http://www.creeting-st-mary.suffolk.gov.uk/
http://www.creetingchurches.org.uk/
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/SFK/ParishIndex.html
Will have a look for details of Sarah WiLDING and see if there is any way of verifying. Probably need the registers from LDS to check children's birth details, to be sure.
All the best
Rachel

Hi Rachel! Oh, I wish people had been more inventive with names in the old days, because I think Edward Edwin Edmund is getting mixed up with his son, whom I think was (John) Edwin. I do know that both my gmpa & dad are Charles EDWIN. I also had John and Sarah Runacres as my ggggrandparents. I think Edward Edwen (yes, I've even seen that!) Edwin b. 1837 was married to Martha and that his son (John?) Edwin Runacres was the one who was married to "Eliza" (Ellizabeth Mary Bloomfield, b. 1868). This genealogy stuff is fun, but frustrating when everybody keeps using the same names, generation after generation! (Why didn't they just number themselves?) By the way, I have hit a brick wall at the John & Sarah Runacres level--I don't have much on them at all. Rishangles for him, Thorndon for her. I guess that's it. I have nothing on Runaker or Runacus as connected to our branch of the family. Thank you for your input & help!
Randall

Thanks Rachel for replying so soon! I think there was a John Edwin Runacres (our spelling) born in 1866 who was a "maltster". He was my grandfather's father. Then HIS father was Edwin/Edward/or Edmund who was the farmer, born also in Creeting, Suffolk, England in 1836/7. I think HIS father (my grandfather's grandfather) was Robert Runacres, but all I have on him is born 1817 in Mutford, Suffolk, died 1874. By the way, how are you connected to the Runaker clan? Just curious.

Hi. I have the father as Edwin RUNACRES, born Creeting in Suffolk in about 1866, son of Edward and Eliza. He was an Agricultural Labourer, born in Rishangles in Suffolk about 1836. Can't find the family before 1881. This may be to do with names - you have your great grandfather as John Edwin, so maybe that'ws worth following up. Will prioritise them and aim to get the family on the website by next weekend.
Hope this helps
Rachel

Hi. I have been researching my family roots, in particular, my maiden name RUNACRES. My grandfather Charles Edwin Runacres Senior was born at Burton Upon Trent, England in 1891 to a large family, I believe about 7 siblings, headed by John Edwin (?) Runacres and Elizabeth Mary Bloomfield. Charles immigrated to USA in 1909 and lived his entire life here. His son, (my Dad), Charles E. Jr. was born in 1917 and is still going strong at age 88. Please send me any information you might have about the John Edwin Runacres family. Thank you!

Look for Stull families in Bedford and Cambria Co., PA. Large Stull family around Salix, Cambria Co., PA. Some members moved west to Ohio, Indiana and MI.

I have been working on a website for the RUNACUS / RUNAKER / RUNICLES / RUNACRES etc. names of Suffolk and Lancashire. I have lots and lots of information yet to add, and there may be some errors. In particular, I am short on information of those who may have emigrated to America / Canada / Australia. Would welcome feedback.
Webiste updated every weekend.
www.tribalpages.com/tribes/lydiarunacus
Just a tip I learned when I became a message board administrator...........
When you fill in the SURNAMES box list ONLY the surnames in the POST. This helps researchers using google etc to find you quicker. Also try to fill in the classification box.

Catherine Runaker & Adam Stull PA, OH & IN

The only Runaker I have so far is CATHERINE RUNAKER born in PA and died in OH. She married ADAM STULL born about 1770 in PA and died 1850 in Ohio. They had 7 kids. I know the Stull's ended up in Northern Indiana. I don't have any other info on the Runaker's. I am hoping to find a connection somewhere.

RUNACUS and variants: spelling

I have now got over 35 variations on the surname. Can anyone beat this? SOme phonetic, but a lot are transcription errors. I guess it's much easier to read the handwriting when you know the name. it is an unusual one!
Just to remind peoiple - I've collected a lot of information, mostly from Suffolk and Norfolk, but also Berkshire, Lancashire, Essex, London and so on which I am happy to share, from 1571 to the present day!

Thanks. Wuill try.
Finding two separate original 'clans' for RUNAKER and variants - in Lancashire and Suffolk. Anyone else finding the same pattern?
