Hi Tracy, My name is Ted Running, I believe that we could be related. My Grand Father (Herman) had a brother named Ralph, as well as Oscar, Phillip, John, Henry, & a sister named Selena. Tha parents of these Group of Running's is Hans & Torine.
My Grand Father Herman married Dorothy Yoder
My father is Herman JR & I am Herman T(Ted)III. My dads part of the Running Family lived in Downsville, Wis.. and they Later they moved to St. Paul, MN and lived their lives in St. Paul. We are of Norwegian decent. I have some history on the name.

Hi Angel, I think your grandfather was my grandfathers brother. His name was Clark Knox running and he had a brother Harold. His fathers name was James . I would like to share information with you terryfortescue@hotmail.com

Hi StuartMy Grandparents emigrated from Armagh to New Zealand in 1926 and over the last few years have been attempting to link together the over 200 Running’s that I have on my data base who lived in Ireland (and specifically in Armagh) up to 1900. Hi..my name is Stuart Bain..I live in Lincolnshire in England..My great great grandfather a Joseph Baines married a Sarah Running in county Armagh in Ireland in 1849..Its interesting to read your comment about the Runnings being mainly Nordic..I cant find out much about them as far as family history in that area in concerned..Do you have any more info on the surname Running or any other sources I could try.?..Look forward to hearing from you..Regards..Stuart Bain.

Tilmer Running was age 9 in the 1930 census of Westby, Vernon, Wisconsin. His father was Clinton Leland Running
and his mother was Minerva Olson. Tilmer was born 27 Oct 1921 and died Nov. 1984 by SS index. Siblings: Lucille, Milton, Leo, Thomas Running and the twins, Donna and Donny, who were adopted by the Jefson family.
Did Tilmer marry, have children?
Minerva was my Dad's first cousin.

On behalf of my niece, I am looking into the Running side of the family. I've only gotten as far back as to my grandfather, Robert James (or cold be Robert Jas. both ways in family bible) Running. He was born on December 8th, 1979 in Enniskillen (where ever that is) and died October 20th, 1955. He married an Emma Jane Hext, born on July 8th, 1883, in Petrolia, ON and died November 26th, 1933. They were married in Wyoming on December 24th, 1902. The had 13 children, all of whom were born in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Canada. Only my uncle Les survives. According tomy uncle Les, his grandfather came from the County of Cork, Ireland. Would appreciate any info.

Well, actually my husband is related to Minerva Olson, by
both her parents.
Henry B. Olson, was a sibling to Tena Olson Lee(his grandmother)
Molla Lee was a daughter of a dau of Torger Lee, thus
a cousin to Tena's husband, Adolph Oliver Lee(my husband's
grandfather and grandmother).

The 1930 census of Westby, Vernon County, Wis shows that
Clinton R. Running was 32, md first at 21, born Wis.
Wife was Minerva, age 28, first md at 17, born in Wis.
Children; Lucille M born about 1920, Tilmer born about
1921, Milton J. born about 1925, Leo B. born about 1928.
Can anyone add more to this data?

My g-grandmother Ida Running married Christian Hanson (Hansen) Peterson mid to late 1800's. Children are Peter, Roy, Jake, and Jenny.
Peter Peterson married Effie Borton May 1924. Trying to find more. I also understand that the is sone indian somewhere in the family
tree. I don't know when Ida and Christian were married or died Grand Dad didn't talk much and didn't like answering questions.I hope

There is a Harold O. Running listed in the Minnesota Historical Society's Death Certificate Index. The web site is: http://people.mnhs.org/dci It lists his date of death as Oct 15, 1931 in the County of Big Stone. This county is just north of Lac Qui Parle. You can get a copy of his death certificate from them for $8. It normally shows birth date, parents names, etc. Hope this helps.

Searching for Runnings from Eau Claire

I am looking to locate any living decendant of Thrond Johansen Running and Rannei Syversen Røv. They were married in Norway and came to Eau Claire between 1880 and 1890. They had one son Sever Melvin Running. He and his wife had three sons, Romane, William and James. Romane died in Buffalo County Wisc.and is buried in Eau Claire. William and James both died in Texas. Romane had three sons. Roger, Lee and Richard. Richard died in 1986 in Reno Nevada and is also buried in Eau Claire. Richard had a daughter , Kimberly Brown from Crossville, TN. I have called approx. 75 Runnings in Wisc. to no avail. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Old family lore has it that my family's Norwegian name was either Gullickson or Hendrickson but when they came through Ellis Island it was changed to Running. My grandfather settled in the Western Wisconsin area where there were other Running families - but supposedly not related to us.

Any of you able to show that the Running name originated in Norway?

My grand father Arnold Running (died 3/2/99), was born in South Dakota, and moved to northen minneosta as a small child, he was the youngest of a large family then his mother died, then the family fell apart as far as I can figure. Anyway he moved to Minnespolis is the late 1920's to work.
Anyway are all the running in minnesota related, my grandfather,s father was from norway i beleive I think his name was Bernard Running!

I don't know if this will help but I have seen lot's of the Running family on the social security death index a lot in the area you are looking at. I don't think we are related but maybe linked somewhere as there is a lot of the Running name in my family and also from MI. Hope this may be of some use. Beverley

My Grandmother is Carmen Virginia Albrecht and her parents were Albert Clemons Albrecht and Georgine Amelia Running. We know that Georgine's mothers maiden name is Carrie but don't know any further. I don't know much about the Running side of my family. My great grandfather is Lee Clarke Running of Racine, Wisconsin. His parents were Walter C. Running and Maybelle Running.
