Hello, I am also researching a string of Esterlines and I was wondering if Ruben Esterline of Maryland or Pennsylvania or any of his brothers married girls from pennsylvania and then traveled to Ohio. If perhaps any of these women became ill and went home to die. I am trying to figure out how my Elizabeth Esterline in 1860, Maryland, is not associated with any family prior. Any help or thoughts appreciated. Thank- you Mike Derringer

Rupley - WIlliams Co OH/Hillsdale and Lenawee Cos Michigan

John Rupley married Barbara Ann Kinney, most likely in Williams County, Ohio about 1856. They had at least nine children: Melvin, Melvina, Mary, Jacob, Margaret, John, Bertha, Ida, and Sarah, born between 1857 and 1879. By 1900, most family members were in Hillsdale County, Michigan, and by the 1910/20 period, many moved on to Lenawee County, Michigan. I am interested in this family due to my Kinney connection, and would happily exchange information with anyone interested.

John Laird

Additionally, my older relatives seem to remember her being from and married in Cumberland County. She lived for a while in Peoria, Illinois before moving to Plano, Iowa. She went to California in the 1860's with Samuel, where he died in 1864. She is then supposed to have moved to Pennsylvania with their children, then back to Plano, Iowa.

She remarried (to Josiah Bowman) at some point. She's listed as Mary Bowman in the 1880 US Census with marital status "Widowed" and "Divorced" in the 1900 US Census.

Looking for any information on the children and grandchildren of Johan Jacob Rubli, the swiss mennonite who married Barbara Loughman, daughter of Casper and ? Loughman, Lancaster CO, PA. It appears that J. Jacob Rubli became Jacob Rupley, according to his will probated in E. Pennsboro Twp, Cumberland CO, PA.

Jacob Rubli/Rupley was named in a couple of deeds in Lancaster CO, PA circa 1764/68. He was associated with Jacob Whistler/Wisler in these deeds involving land in Manor and Conestoga Twps, Lancaster CO, PA. These two neighboring townships border on the west with the Susquehanna River. The Conestoga River/Creek divide Manor and Conestoga Twps, these townships located southwest of Lancaster Boro.

Jacob Rupley names 17 children in his will.

I am specifically looking for ERHART RUBELE(Ruply, etc), of Manor Twp, who married Elizabeth MILLER from the same area. Their marriage was May 1770, recorded in Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster Boro.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

I have quite a bit of information on JohannJacob Rubli/Rupley. Barbara Loughman was his first wife and they had eight children. He then married a Maria Schoff and they had nine more but I do not have any record of one of them with the name you gave. Do you have any more information? I have been finding that there are a lot of Jacob's, mostly brothers, nephews, sons, etc. Let me know...my home email is miles@dcn.davis.ca.us.

Rupley / Mcneil / Holverstott Ancestry

I am hoping someone can help narrow down my search through the scads of Post Revolutionary Days Rupleys.

I have not been able to find the link between My GGGGGF and mother and the rest of the Rupley / Rubli line. I would like any information regarding either parents of John Wesley Rupley and his brother (?) Jacob Rupley or his wife Jane McNeil. I have pretty much all of the info after the following, I just want to know where/who they come from before California.

John was born approx 1815-16 by his obit. Married 6/29/1844 (Marion Co, OH Records) in Marion, OH to Jane McNeil. Went to then moved by wagon train from or via Marion in 1848-52. His obit said he was a native of PA. He died 5/31/1897 in Smith Flats, near Georgetown and Placerville, El Dorado County, CA.

I have no date information on Jane McNeil. She died approx 1873, in Smith Flats, CA. Was 1/2 Indian from Ohio or Oklahoma.

I do have a family history page stating her sister was married to a Joseph Morris and her name was apparently Elizabeth Holverstott. I confess, I am confused as I think I see where it says that John has a sister named Elizabeth as well. Apparently at least one of the women was married before the husbands that I have.

John and Jane's children were Theodore, born before they left for CA, Then, they had Wesley, Jacob, Columbia Ellen, William, George, and Joseph after the move.

RUPLEY

Just received the death certificate for my gggrandmother. Her mother's maiden name is listed as Rupley. Am having trouble reading first name looks like KaraMarie ... she was married to Peter Nicholas and was the mother of Annie L. Nicholas (my ggrandmother, wife of David W. Eckert) who is buried in Enola, Cumberland County. Many of the people I am researching are from E. Pennsborough, West Fairview, Hummelstown, and Harrisburg. Perhaps there is a connection. I just started looking into the Rupley's today.

i can't tell you how excited i am to hear from you. have been "researching" the Milholland's since May have been in contact with descendants of Loura Etta (they live in Colorado), Herbert Ray (they live in Colorado Utah), Amos (they live in Ohio California) and Martha (they live in Indiana). we have even created a milholland website (at myfamily.com) for descendants of thomas milholland. all of us are "stuck" @ thomas so not only are we sharing about each of our branches (my grandfather was Paul Allen Milholland)(i live in Florida) but have been searching for thomas' ancestors. any info would be of help either about your branch or thomas. my email is clee999@aol.com if you would prefer to communicate thru my email instead of a message board. Hope to hear from you soon!
