Ruscher married Kathleen Ackley (I have access to newspaper articles pertaining to thier divorce). Kathleen later married Willard Samuel Miller.

Lucius W. Ruscher & Kathleen Ackley had at least two children: Lucius Le Grande Ruscher born 1903 - died 1979 & Marianne V Ruscher born abt 1907.

Lucius Le Grande Ruscher married Margaret Leahy.
Margaret died in 1938 from injuries sustained in a car accident. (I have newspaper articles, obits).

Marianne V Ruscher married Cecil William Woodland.
(I have wedding announcement from newspaper).

I am interested in this family because I am putting together a family tree for a friend of mine (Frederick M Wilmer Jr.) whom I believe is a grand nephew of Lucius Waffle Ruscher.

I am looking for anyone who could confirm that Lucius was the son of Daniel B Ruscher & Jane Waffle.

Looking for information on a Heinrick Carl Ruscher, he married Johanna Schnakenberg and had 3 children... Heinrick, Theodore Carl (who was my grandfather) and Heidi. The American spelling for Ruscher is Ruescher. Theodore and Carl came over from Bremen Germany, Heidi stayed. Any info you may have would be appreciated.

Hey Sue...thanks for your reply. My ggf Theodore Carl came over from Bremen in 1912. He was 16. He also settled in Brooklyn. His brother Heinrick came over after WWI. Theodores father Heinrick never came over. Are your Ruschers from Bremen or Bremenhaven? Since there are not that many Ruschers around I would bet that there is a connection some how. I wish I knew who Heinricks siblings were, I don't even know who his father was. Maybe if we put our heads together we can come up with something. You can email me if you would like. Bumblebee0226@aol.com Thanks again.

My name is Edward L. Ruscher. I was born in Indianapolis IN in 1963. I was adopted from my blood mother Claudia Beth Ruscher by her parents Edgar L. and Bettejane Ruscher. They raised me all of my life. I was convinced that I was the last living male Ruscher around since all of my nexus searches turned up dead Ruschers, none living. I want to correspond with all of you that I can. My Pop and Gram died in 1988 and 1992 and I have really felt so alone with no family of my own. If anyone reads this and knows the lineage of Otto and Helena Ruscher of Columbus IN, and Indianapolis IN please write back. It is so good to know there are other Ruschers out there. I hope to hear from you all.

We are unsure of brothers and sisters, although we feel certain that there were some. We have accounted for several of t=his children, Carrie, Daniel, Justus, Francis, Ella, Grace and Mary (Minnie). It was said that they had 14 children in all. They settled in Brooklyn and are listed in the 1892 census.

Nicole, my gg grandfather, Alonzo Ruscher, had a brother named John and their father's name was George. "Our" John was born about 1834 in New York. (Possibly Oswego Co.) Any connections to "your" John?

Well darn, it sounds like a different John. Our line of Ruschers came from Germany. Also, "our" John was born about 1834 and George about 1809. John was born in New York and George came from Germany. Good luck in your search.

I was searching through my Ruscher file today and found something that might be helpful to you. Someone responded to a post I had made about Rusher. Here is what she wrote:

"I have no connection to Ruscher's but I did run across an obit that I copied because it connected to a relative. He was John Ruscher, born Austria-Hungary in 1872, came to America at the age of 16. Resided in Montpelier Vermont where he became a proprietor of a monument manufacturing and wholesale plant. Left for Lorain Co. Ohio where he entered the retail business owning his own monument Co. He had a wife Julie, a son John J. Ruscher, and a daughter Mrs. C. E. Lee."

Anyway, maybe this will help you. There wasn't any connection to my family.

Our John is reported to have been born in 1878 in Hungary and his father George was born in 1853 near Hungary. But these could be inaccurate. Did your John marry Anna Zimmerman?
