1. ) Harvey Milard Ruse

Born : 19 Feb 1889 Frankfort, Indiana
Married : 25 Dec ( Christmas Day ) 1912 at Frankfort,Indiana
to ClaraBell Grimes .
Died : 15 Oct 1945 on 5th Street of Gosport,Indiana
He was a switchboard operator for the Monon Railroad
His wife ClaraBell Grimes was the daughter of Virgil
Markwood Grimes and his wife Ida Mae Elston . ClaraBell (Grimes) Ruse
was born 28 Nov 1892 at West Lafayette,Indiana and she died on 10 Nov
1980 at Donna Nursing Home Spencer,Owen County , Indiana.
Both are buried at Greenlawn Cemetery at Frankfort,Indiana .
ClaraBell (Grimes) Ruse is listed in the Social Security Death Index
with Social Security Number of 306-28-9829. Harvey oddly does not appear
in the Social Security Death Index .
They were my ( Scott Bush 's ) Great Grandparents .

2.) Madge P. Ruse
Born : 13 Nov 1890 at Clinton County, Indiana
Married : Fred Neff on 13 Sept 1912 - Listed in W.P.A. Index to Clinton
County , Indiana marriages 1905-1912 Sup. It is listed as Clinton County Court Clerks Marriage Book 4, Page 336 . The date also appears in a r record in the hand writing of Harvey Ruse . I also have a record that
gives the date as 1913 but think this is in error .
Death:
Madge Ruse is not listed under the name Madge Neff in the Social
Security Death Index . I searched it from 1940-1980 and she did not appear as having died in that time frame in Indiana . I am wondering if she remarried or is just missing
from the index or listed incorrectly . The SSDI does list anything for
a Fred Neff except for one who died in Floyd County, Indiana . I wonder if perhaps they left Indiana .

3.) Clara Bell Ruse
Born : 13 March 1894
Married : Clifford T. Robison ( I also have records that show the
surname as Robinson and Robertson, etc . ) They were married in
Clinton County, Indiana and are listed in the W.P.A. Index to Clinton
County Marriages 1905-1920 Sup. The marriage is given as Clinton County
Court Clerk's Marriage Book 4, Page 206 . I have two marriage dates
4 March 1912 and 2 March 1912

4. ) Bertha N. Ruse
Born : 11 April 1897
Married : Harry R. Laughner on 16 Aug. 1916 at Clinton County ,Indiana
It is listed in W.P.A. Index to Marriages 1905-1912 Sup. and is given
as Clinton County Indiana Court Clerks Marriage Book 6 , Page 157
Death :
Bertha N. ( Ruse ) Laughner is not listed in the SSDI however
list Harry Laughner who was born 16 June 1895 in Indiana and who died at Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana in May of 1968 He is listed with
the SSN : 308-09-6520 . I need more info on when Bertha died
I think the WPA index to Howard County might help here but have yet
to check it .






5. ) Virgil Ruse
Born : 22 Nov.1908 at Clinton County, Indiana
Married :
Death : He appears in the Social Security Death Index
with the SSN of : 308-09-6166 . He died in June 1976
and had last received SSA benefits at Kokomo,
Howard County, Indiana .A search of the June 1976 newspapers
for the Kokomo area for an obit or death notice is needed here.
I have yet to do so .

6. ) The WPA Index to Clinton County ,Indiana Births lists a child
being born 0n 11 April 1897 as Book H4 - Page 4 .I think this is most
likely a clerical error and was most likely Bertha .

7. ) I have no other children listed however as infant death rates were so
high in those days that a search of the Infant Mortality Schedules as
as well as a review of the number of children born to Mother in the
Census returns may be helpful .

Court Clerks Marriage Record Book # 1 , Page 171 .This a two page
record .On the first page permission to marry is given by Ruth's father
Edm Philips/Phillips . No other mention of parents is given .
Died : 3 March 1850 at Clinton County , Ohio .
Will/Estate : Clinton County Ohio Court Clerk's Will Book C ,Page 159
Burial : Aaron Ruse is buried at F&AM ( Masonic ) Cemetery at Lynchburg,Ohio
His Wife : Ruth Philips/Phillips was born ca. 1768 in VA.? and she died
on 25 July 1844 at Clinton County,Ohio . She is buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery near Lynchburg,Ohio .
They were the parents of :

Edmond Ruse (Sr.)

Born : ca. 1793 in Virginia ?
Married : Susannah (Unk ? ) She was born about 1795 in Kentucky
A marriage record for them is still needed
No estate has been found for Edmond Sr. or Susannah in Clinton,Highland or Montgomery Counties of Ohio .
They were the parents of :

Nathan Ruse
Born : 1810 in Ohio
Married : Sarah Cashat ( or Cashatt ) on 17 Sept 1829 at Highland County,
Ohio . She was the daughter of Thomas Cashatt and Anne Ratcliff .
A death record , etc is still needed for them both .No probate record was fround for Nathan Ruse in Howard, Clinton and Boone Counties ,Indiana
They were the parents of :

( Nathan ? ) Madison Ruse
Born : 1837 in Ohio
Married : Elizabeth Davidson on 13 March 1856 . The marriage is given as
Clinton County , Indiana Court Clerk's Marriage Book C-3 , Page 301.
I need more info on the Davidson Family but have not done much research into this line yet .
They only marriage record that I could find for either of them was a
record that shows Madison Ruse as having died on 7 May 1920 at Kokomo,
Howard County , Indiana . Howard County Court Clerk's Deaths Book : C17,Page 101 . I am sending for a copy of this now . The obit which appeared for him
however gives him as Nathan Rose -Not Ruse . However a William Rose of Forest, Indiana is listed . Rather or not this record is for our line is not yet clear. I hope by getting the hard copy that perhaps it might clear some things up .The person in the obit was buried at Russiaville Cemetery at Russiaville,IN.

Born : 7 Nov 1863 at Clinton County,Indiana
Married : Margaret Jennie Huffer on 8 May 1888
in Clinton County ,Indiana .
Died : 27 Jan. 1937 at 7:30 A.M. of a heart attack at his home at
Forest , Cass County , Indiana .


Burial : With wife and her parents at St. Paul Cemetery located near the
corner of Indiana State Roads 100 East and 400 North near Forest in Clinton Countyunty,Indiana . The older part of the cemetery is across the road from the
road from the newer section . The older part was once known as the
" Old Swamp Creek Grave Yard " . There are still current burials in the newer sections today .

His Wife : Margaret Jennie Huffer was born 19 April 1867 in Clinton County, Indiana .She died at 10:40 A.M. at St.Jospeh Hospital at Kokomo, Howard County County ,Indiana . She was the daughter of Henry Huffer ( Ind. 150th - Union
Civil War )Henry Huffer was born 18 April 1834 near Michigantown, Clinton Countyounty, Indiana shortly after his parents moved to Clinton County ,Indiana from Augusta County, Virginia .Henry Huffer died 28 March 1908 at Clinton CountyCounty, Indiana . The mother of Margaret Jennie Huffer ( and wife of Henry Huffer ) was Martha Scott who is reported to have been Native
American Indian . Martha (Scott) Huffer was born 8 Oct 1838 in Ohio .
I have one record that states Hardin County and one that states Harlan County aalong with a family tree from a fellow researcher which I have yet to check out for documentation or correction . She died 11 June 1920 at Clinton County,Indiana and is buried with Henry Huffer and her daughter Margaret Jennie Huffer and son-in-law William Lorenzo Ruse at St. Paul Cemetery near the city of Forest in Clinton County,Indiana

They were the parents of Harvey Milard Ruse .

When William Lorenzo Ruse died in 1937 his survivors were listed in his obit as :
Wife , son Virgil Ruse of of Kokomo ,Indiana .Son Harvey Ruse of Frankfort,Indiana
Mrs. Fred Neff of Near Russiaville , Mrs. Clifford Roberston ( note spelling here ) of near Burlington ,Mrs. Harry Laughner of Kokomo,Indiana . and Harvey Ruse of
Frankfort . William Ruse had services at the Baptist Church by Rev. Hamilton .

When Jennie Margaret (Huffer) Ruse died in 1948 her obit gave the following
survivors as : Sons Virgil of Kokomo,Indiana , Daughters : Madge Neff of Frankfort, Clara Robinson of Frankfort, Bertha Laughner of Kokomo and a sister Rosa Mann of Hillsburg . Her services were by the Rev . J.R. Quick .
Both William and Jennie (Huffer) Ruse were at the Lowery Funeral Home at Forest, Cass County,Indiana

Jennie Margaret ( Huffer ) Ruse 's estate was settled in Clinton County,
Indiana as Estate Number 6591 . It is listed as April term of 1949
and was settled final on 19 May 1949 . Most of her estate went to pay off
what few debts she had. The estate was transfered from Clara Robison to
William H. Lowery on 3 Sept 1948 . At that time a list of her surviors or
heirs were listed as follows :

Madge P. Neff age 57 -daughter -lived at R.F.D.#2 ,Frankfort,IN.
Clara B. Robison age 54 -daughter -lived at R.F.D.#1,Frankfort,IN.
Bertha N.Laughner age 51 -daughter -lived at 515 W. Woodland St. at

Virgil D. Ruse age 40-son of 1010 W. State St. at Kokomo,Indiana

68510 ) for Twenty Five Dollars ( 25.00 ) but am unsure if this is still
the case .
