They had 1 son together John c. Todd and she also had a son named Doug from a previous marriage. They were later divorced. I have a list of names for the children of Asa and Catherine Rutland, married 1814, Marion Co, MS, however, I need to find the SOURCE.

Prior to 1850 only heads of household were named. I have been unable to locate a will for Asa Rutland which named his children. A Bible record? I am looking for any kind of documentation that will validate my records.
The closest I have been able to come so far is the 1816 Pike Co MS census which shows Asa Rutland with one white female under 21.

Hi my name is John Tainton and my Grandfather was Called Jack "or John" Rutland and he lived in North Kent near Erith and worked in a paper mill. Jack was married twice:

Grandmother and lived in Belvedere Kent they had three girls. They live in Gloucestershire and Kent

Grandmother – second wife had two children boy and girl – not sure where these live.

A slight memory of Sussex being mentioned – but no details.

I'm trying to trace ancestors of John Rutland born in Sandbach Cheshire and died in 1871.

He married Abigail who was born in Dudley 1800 who died 1858.
They had five children, 3 girls and 2 boys.

The youngest boy Frederick Lay was born in 1823 (died 1900 in Aston) in Leek and married Mary Ann Burden about 1819-1820 in Hagley.

They had 2 boys and 3 girls. The youngest boy William born 1849 married Eleanor Mary, surname unknown.

One of their sons Hubert (born in Lambeth 1889) was my grandfather.

Can anybody help me.

Novemeber 22, 1819 issue of the Vermont Intelligencer and Bellows Falls Newspaper that details the account of one Simeon Foster, then 95 years old, of his travels and efforts to secure his Revolutionary War pension. This is a great read if I could fird his ancestors. I too am aFoster but not related.

I am looking for information on the Rutlands of south MS in mainly Covington Co, 1840 to present; Pike, early 1800's; Lincoln, 1880 to present, and so on.

Anderson Rutland, 1838 - aft 1900. Need info on children: William A., Frances; Robert D (married Demaris McRaney); Susie; Angeline, and Ida Elizabeth married Frank Wilson. Also maiden name of 3rd wife, Matilda, b 1844, as shown on 1900 census, death dates of Elizabeth Graves Rutland and Betsy Wilson Rutland.

This is what I know of my fathers line.
My father was Robert Lee Rutland.
He passed in 1984 in NJ, at the age of 48.
If I remember correctly, He was Born in Baltimore MD.
My fathers sister's name is Sarah
My grand father was James Rutland and his wife,
my grand mother, was Alice sellars.
My grand father, James Rutland had a twin sister. Jane? I think that was, or is her name.
James and his sister were one of four or five sets of twins.
I'm not sure but I think James had something like 12 or so siblings.
I was also told that James was part Blackfoot Indian?
on his mothers side. She was full blood Blackfoot?
and her surname was Youngblood.

That's all I know, If your info matches mine,

Sidney Rudland was born on 24 July 1898 at 10 Paxton Terrace, King's Lynn, Norfolk, England. He served in the 1914-18 war and appears to have emigrated to Australia after the war. His parents were James and Anna Rudland who left King's Lynn after the birth of Sidney and settled in Upper Clapton, North Hackney, Middlesex, now in the greater London area.

His brother Reginald was my wife's father who later lived in Dagenham, Essex, but died in 1930. We would very much like to know what happened to him and if there are any family descendants.

No, you can't really research either of these families without researching all of them. Need a map to get through all the crooks and turns.

One other question, if you know. Was Lenora any relation to Vander Flynt who married Troy Rutland, probably about 1925-1930? Vander was the man, Troy the wife.

There are a lot of Flynts at Shiloh.

Who are these people and why are they living with Anderson Rutland, 1860???

In 1860, Anderson Rutland, Covington Co, MS, is shown as being 22 yrs old, b ca 1838. His wife is Lizer, 26. Also in Anderson's household are the following people:
Elijah Boothe, 18;
Daniel Walker, 13;
Frances Williamson, F, age 60;
Jane White, f, age 60;
William Robertson, 50;
John Newsom, 16;
John Slaven, 21;
FNU Bates, 24;
FNU Strahan, 16; and
Franklin Loftin, 15.
This is the order on the census. Frances Williamson is shown as b in GA; Jane White and apparently William Robertson, in NC; John Slaven in LA; Bates and Strahan in TX. ALL, even the wife and other women, expect Bates, are shown as farming. Bates is a teacher.

Does anyone have any idea who any of these people are and why they are living with Anderson. In 1870, he is with his wife and children. My research has not shown a connection to anyone with any of the above surnames, but I have to be missing somewhere.

My grandfather William Pinkey Rutland (1882) was married to Florence Ann Peavy (1887). Florence's mother was Florence Tima Givens(1875) married to Little Berry Peavy(1863).

Tima died giving birth to my grandmother, Florence Ann. I am trying to find the Givens ancestors. The only clue I have was that Tima was born in Adams Co. MS. Thanks!

I am looking for the parents of John D. Rutland. He joined the Confederate in Georgia. He was taken prisoner in VA and sent to Elmira, NY. My Father, Hobson B. Rutland, son of William Watson Rutland referred to John as Uncle John. My grandfather did not have a brother named John unless it was part of a brother's name that I have not found.

I am trying to learn more about the RUTLAND and other ancestors of my GGrandmother, Mary Frances RUTLAND 1854 - 1889, Wilkinson Co, GA; who married William Stephens VANLANDINGHAM 1874.

Mary Frances' parents were John R. RUTLAND and Laudista (Loduska) HAYS. John was born 5 May 1829 in Wilkinson Co, GA, married 22 Jul 1851 in Wilkinson Co, GA, and died 14 Dec 1895. Laudista was born 28 Apr 1831, and died 28 Jul 1892. They lived in the Turkey Creek Census District in 1860 and the Griffin District in 1870. They were members of the New Providence Baptist Church, in Jeffersonville. Both are buried at Irwinton Masonic Cemetery in Wilkinson Co, GA. Thier children were George C. 1853; Mary Frances 1854 - 1889; William H. 1858; Elizabeth Jane 1860s; Thomas J. 1862 - married Lenna M. FREEMAN 1880; Julia L. 1863- 1883; Anna P. 1868- married John BUXTON.

John Rutland's parents were Wiley RUTLAND and Permelia CHEWNING. Wiley Rutland was born in NC and died in 1845. Permelia was born in Greene Co, GA on 13 Mar 1795 and died on 29 Jan 1868. They are buried in the Rutland Family Cemetery, in Wilkinson Co, GA. Their children were as follows: David W. 1826 - 1899; Thomas H. 1837 - 1911 married Epsey HARVILLE after 1870; John R. 1829 - 1895 married Loduska HAYS 1851; Elizabeth 1838 - 1907 married William R. VANLANDINGHAM 1855; Henry F. 1842 - after 1880 married Annie E. PERRY 1870.

Loduska Hays parents were Elias D. HAYS, born 1797, died 1850s and Jane SMITH, born 1797, died after 1860. They are listed in Wilkinson County 1850 & 1860 Census.

I believe that Permelia CHEWNINGs father was David CHEWNING, listed in the 1820 and 1830 Greene Co Census.
