RYALLs of Ireland in 1800s

Surnames: RYALL
My RYALL family ended up in New York City in late 1800s. I'm looking for any clues in Ireland or in New York.

Great-grandfather: Thomas born 1856, listed parents from Ireland (country only in US Census, no county). His 1st wife Annie, born 1842, also listed parents from Ireland. They had 14 children before she passed away, one of them was my grandfather John.

Thomas Ryall was listed in NY as a widower at one point, then married another woman named Annie, this one born about 1857.

To further the confusion, one daughter of the first marriage is also named Annie and married a man named Connolly. My grandfather John and his sister Mary lived with this couple around 1920, just before my grandfather married.

My grandfather John (born around 1900) worked as a driver and also as a musician in New York. He toured and played on WOR radio in NY. His group was the Avalon Trio. He passed away about 1940.

If any of this rings a bell with your family history search, I'd like to hear from you. Any help appreciated with regard to searches in Ireland or New York. Off list OK as well at ancestry1971 at gmail dot com. Thanks ever so much.
