My husband is a direct decendent of Stephen Ryerson/Rierson/Riason/Ryenson etc. & because of the roadblock in finding any siblings or parents of Stephen I had my husband do an paternal Y-dna test & it came back as (per the World Haplogroup predictor) R1b- S. Irish 40% & Frisian2-31%, Frisian3-8%, Frisian-4%, R1b-3%, R1b-S28-2%, R1b-UB-2% & R1b-Irish-Continental-1%.
If anyone who has or believes they have a Ryerson line and has had a paternal dna test done & would like to compare & see if we can break this brickwall please contact me.
I was surprised as anyone to find an Irish background along with a Holland/Germany coastal Frisian line. If anyone has or knows of a Frisian dna project please let me know.
Lets all try work together to continue the Ryerson line into the earlier generations.
