Is this the gent that has information on Issac Rylee? Isn't James and Issac brothers or are they father and son? It has been so long since I've researched that the particulars have escaped me. I would like to have more info on this family line, it would be a great addition to what we already have.

I do have some info that clarifies some things. Indiana and Madison (my grandfather) were brother and sister, born of Y.J. and Mary Permelia (Bell) Rylee. Y.J. and William Rylee were the sons of John Rylee and 2nd wife, Lucy Pruitt. It is believed that their siblings were: Lavenia, Robert, Samuel, Nancy, and Eli Rylee. Y.J., William and the older children were named as children of John Rylee and received land from James Rylee, Jr. who stated they were his nephews and nieces. William, son of John Rylee, was married in Hall Co., GA to his first cousin, Martha, daughter of James Rylee, Jr. He died 25 May 1902 and was buried in Gillsville Cemetery.

I do have some stories. I also have some old letters between Granny (Rylee) and Aunt Lucille, my mother, Aunt Opal, etc. that are precious. Lots of old pictures, of course. I have one old picture of Mrs. Jeff (Sadie) Rylee, riding sidesaddle on a horse, leading the Founders' Day Parade there in Granbury. Mother was named after her and one of Grandpa Madison Rylee's sisters, Narcissus. Rather than having to go to this message board, why don't we just go the email route? Mine is patw@austin.rr.com.

Cousin Pat, Mother and Daddy live in Grandbury now. Daddy just had surgery but is in pretty good health, however, mother has alzheimers. So we have been spending alot of time in Grandbury with them. We had seven children, including two sets of twins. And now we have 16 grandchildren. You know we have alot of stories to tell. Tom and Tim had three children each. Most of our family live in the Metroplex area or the Austin area. I am hoping that you will help me to contact others who would come to the reunion. Daddy has been telling me alot of stories that he could remember about his parents, Opal and Homer. I am hoping to collect alot os stories about other relatives to print in out family booklet for the reunion that will be in Grandbury next May.

Sharon, I'm your cousin Pat Smith Williamson. Your grandmother Opal, was my Aunt Opal, the sister of my mother, your great-aunt Sadie. Are your mother and daddy still alive? I've tried looking in the phone book in Irving to find them and/or your brothers Timmy or Tommy but I couldn't find anybody and I don't know what your cousin's Pam's last name is anymore. It used to be Dixon, I think, is that right? I think the last time I saw you was at Aunt Opal's funeral when you took my kids out to "pop rocks" there in Cisco. My daughter, Raylene, and I were just talking about you just the other day. I'm really looking forward to talking with you. Where are you living? Please answer ASAP, I'm really anxious to hear from you!
This is in regard to Young Jeff (Y. J.) Rylee that lived in Fresno, CA that was buried in Granbury, TX. He was the son of Madison (Bud) Rylee, son of Young John (Y.J.) Rylee, who came from Hall Co., GA, by way of MS, who was a younger son of James Rylee, Sr. My mother, Sadie Rylee, was a daughter of Madison, and a sister of Y.J.
I am researching my wife's family and have come to dead end on John Howard, married to Martha Elizabeth (Bettie/Betty) Rylee (riley) one of Joseph's daughter. My mother in Bernice Cook was the youngest and the last and she has no birth certificate. Apparently John Howard abandoned his family and Joseph and Martha raised the oldest of her siblings until their death's in the 1930's. Is their anyone that can confrim whom John Howard is. I have been to Marion, along with my wife and daughter and found no marrige license, and to Payne's Chapel cem. and their not buired there unless it is an unmarked grave. Also no one knows where
Martha is buired. Do you or anyone in the family have any info on the marriage, etc. Would appreciate.

My greatgrandfather was Jasper Newton Rylee. He was in the CSA's army. He also fell ill. He was born in Gainsville, Hall county, GA Dec 1,1819. He inlisted May 1861 at canton, GA. He took sick and furloughed. Re-inlisted as an orderly sergent in the winter of 1864 at Anniston, AL.,in Col. Reid's Battalion. He disbanded at columbus, Miss,. He then lived with wife Callie in Perry County, Al were he died and is now buried. That is all I know right now about him. I just started searching my ancestors. Some of my relitives know the names you need. I will be glad to ask them and get back with you. Hope this helps and maybe it is the right Jasper Rylee you are looking for.

Yes I know where Pondville is. Well my dad's mother was a Rylee. Jasper was her great grandfather. Her father was William Franklin Rylee. She was Frances Rylee Taylor. That's how he is my 3rd great grandfather. I don't know if jensey (ginsy) was Native American, but I have always been told one of my great grandmothers was full blooded Cherokee Indian. That's all I know about that. I really would like to find it out. I have nothing, but Jaspers date of birth and death and where he was born and that he was married to Jensey. That is all. My father did not even know he had been married more than once, but we do know my great grandfather William was born out of wedlock he never knew his father he called Jasper his father when actually Jaspers daughter Carrie Rylee was the mother. confused yet?Any information you can get from your father will be very helpful to me and I will be happy to give you what I get. Yes you may have my e-mail address. It is christaml@aol.com. I hope we can figure this out. Thanks Christa

I would like more info about the Rylee family in Pondville, Al. I believe I have a connection to Rylee line but I do not have the connection. I am looking for a D. Rylee who married Amanda Druscilla Stewart/Steward Creel abt 1915 and his brother William "Willie T" Rylee who married Dovie Creel abt 1915. The Creels were mother and daughter. I think a daughter of D. and Amanda Rylee is still in Pondville. Her name is Dolly but I do not know who she married so that is all I know. She also had a brother named Manley. I do not think any of Willie and Dovie's children are still in the area. Can anyone shed any light on this family?
I believe Y.J. was my great great grandfather's brother, but have not been able to go to Georgia to research.

On the 1850 Census for Tishmingo, Mississippi
Y.J. Rylee with his family is next to John Frank Rylee (my great great grandfather) and a William Rylee that was of the correct age to be both Y.J. & John Frank's father.

John Frank & William also were in Granbury at the same time as Y.J.. Also Jeff Rylee moved to Fresno, California and my sister told me that my Uncle Olan would often visit him.

Do you know the name of Y.J.'s parents?

My great great grandfather:
John Frank married Sarah Jane Blythe in Tishmingo, Mississippi.

My great grandfather:
William John Rylee married Malinda Gardenhire.

My grandfather:
Edward James Rylee married Alice Novela Newton

My father:
J.N. Rylee married Anna Helen Crisel

I have a large volume of information that I have found in my research, that couisin's and others have given me. I would be happy to share, but I don't have it separated. I have the Rylee's, Crisel's, Newton's, Underwood's, Glenn's, Williams and my ex-husband's (for my children) and my grandchildren's information all in one database.

The last time I tried to print only my Rylee database and branch's I had over 2,000 pages and I have added info since then. It would take a while, but I could type a Word Document and attach it to e-mail.

Please let me know if you want my complete database and I can create it as a GED file or if you want I can type the document and send it to you in partial or complete form.

My e-mail address is "ssbamsandy@wmconnect.com".

Linda, William J. Rylee's parents is John Frank Rylee and Sarah J. (Jane?) Blythe. They were married in Tishmingo, MS, in 1847. I have a certified copy of their marriage records.

In the 1850 Tishmingo Co., MS Census John Frank Rylee, Sarah and William are listed. In the two houses next to them there is Y. J. Rylee with his family (I believe he is John Frank's brother) and a William Rylee (the correct age to be bother of their parents). John Frank Rylee and Y. J. Rylee were born in GA and William Rylee's wife was born in GA. It all makes me think that they were all related. One of these days I want to go to GA to do some research and see if I can prove all my feelings.

My information on some of William and Malinda's children is missing. If you can give me any of the marriages, children and data like that I would love it. I know that my grandfather Edward J. Rylee was one of their sons. My father J. N. Rylee was one of of Edward J. Rylee and Alice Novela Newton's sons. I'm surprised that Vida or Freddy didn't mentions the rest of the Rylee's that live in Fresno. My brothers and one sister live here. In addition one of Edward's daughters Doris is stilling living and in Fresno.

My grandmother Alice Novela died in or around Bakersfield, CA, after giving birth to Aunt Doris.

My brother and I have both been doing family research. I started in 1999 and have collected more data, because I moved to Memphis, TN, with my work for a couple of years. Tishmingo, MS is only about one and a half hours from Memphis. I am now back in CA again.

Well, I guess I should close for now. I will try to find what hard copies I have of my data and if you would like some info just let me know.

Sandy

Re: Hall and Banks Co. GA. Rylee's

Do you have the names of the children of John Rylee? In several census records for Banks and Hall County I have found records of William and Martha Rylee. I believe Martha Rylee was the daughter of James Rylee Jr, and from information I have seen on line, she married her cousin. I'm looking for information on Nancy Rylee who married Henry Cagle in Hall County in the 1850's. She was born about 1834 in Hall County. I have not been able to trace her family except that in the 1850 census, I find William (Riley) with his wife and several younger children who from the ages would probably have been his siblings. One was N Rylee who was about 16 at the time. Living one house down from them was John Riley age 66. Later, in the 1900 census, I find William Rylee age 7l living in Banks County and next door is Joseph Cagle and his family. Joe Cagle was the eldest son of Nancy Rylee. Nancy also had sons named William, John, and Eli - all Rylee names. My feeling is that she is the daughter of John Rylee and William is her brother. Can anyone help me with this family?

Rylee/Cagle Family Hall/Banks County GA

Searching for family of my g-g-grandmother Nancy Rylee.
Married Henry Cagle 10-14-1852. After he died during the Civil War, she married Burwell Miller (also in Hall County). 1880 Census shows her as widowed living in Hall County next door to her son Joseph Cagle (my great grandfather) but listed as Nancy Cagle instead of Miller. Census states her father and mother were born in Virginia. Can anyone help with her family?
