Chris,
I am Thomas Ryon of Colorado and fromery Streator Illinois.
My sister wrote this note about Sir Anthony Ryon:
"Anthony Ryon and his wife came to this country from the north of Ireland in early 1748. No earlier records have been located. It is believed Anthony Ryon was of Scot-Irish ancestry. After arriving in New York, he took sick and died leaving his widow and baby son." His son, John Ryon (1748-1832)was born on the trip to America and served in the Revolutionary War. He resided in Tioga County, PA after the war. Likely info you already know. I have no information from Ireland. This information was taken from D.A.R. application of Bessie McCulla, notes from several family history authors, a Tioga County PA History Book and the research of Harriet Wallace. -TR

Born in Franklin, Kentucky, both attended the Franklin Female College. In 1898 Theresa married J.R. Reed (John Robert) and moved to Dallas.

Becky, another Phillip Ryon also lived in Clark County and died in 1840's his wife Marcia is listed with her son John in the 1850 census of KY. This Phillip H Ryon was probably brother of John B Ryon who died much earlier in clark Co leaving a will. Phillip was married twice and had 14 or 15 children. He and John B came to KY about 1807/1809 from Virginia --the fairfax/Loudoun Co border area. John B Ryon also had a son named Philip --I am interested mainly in Philip H Ryons wife Marcia who I believe to be Marcia Bridges a sister of one of my ancestors.

HLR was the son of William Simpson Ryon and
Sarah Massey. They were married in Russellville, Tn. about l84l/43. HLF had a
brother Jacob (Jake) who is my husband's
grandfather. William Simpson Ryon also
had a sister Mary Emaline Ryon who married
John Miller and she is buried in Morristown.
Their mother was named Jane but we have not
found out their fathers name. Possibly
could be James as Mary Emaline named her
first child James and William Simpson Ryon
named his first child James. We have not
proved that yet. The Ryons lived in Jefferson Co., Tn. until about l869 when
WSR came to Morgan Co.

Philip Ryon and son Leonard Ryon -- Need Documentation

Philip Ryon was born in about 1758, fought in the Revolutionary War, took the Oath of Allegiance among other things. Married about 1778 to Johanna Alder in Maryland. They had four children in Virginia (Loudoun County: one son named Leonard, and three daughters. Cannot find positive proof that Leonard was son of Philip. Where does the documentation exist for the parentage of Leonard and sisters.

Philip remarried in about 1798 to Marcia? They had several children.

Philip and his brothers moved to Kentucky. Where they later died.

Is this the Henry LaFayette "Fayt" Ryon born August 1, 1853 in Tenn? His first marriage was to Sarah (Sary) Elizabeth Guffey. I have a photo of his tombstone in Everheart Cemetery, Whiteright, Tx (Grayson County). Aug 1-1853/Aug 21-1911. Also a picture of a man that says "Fayt Ryon" , a picture of a girl that says Laurie Ryon, and a man with 2 women and 6 children that says "Fayt" Ryon family. Sarah Guffey Ryon was a sister to my great grand mother Dinah (Diana) Guffey who was married to Stephen H. Comb Lankford, buried in the same cemetery Feb 24-1857/April 27-1907. We are trying to find when Dinah (Diana) Guffey Lankford died and where she is buried. Perhaps some of the Ryon family would have this information or a picture of her.
