Just emailed you because we have the same name. I looked on my "pedigree" and found some ancestors from Pennsylvania, but that's from my mother's side of the family. But STILL.....nice to know you have a double out here somewhere!

My great great grandmother was Juliana Sabadas, of course it could be Sabados. She was from Romania as well. I don't know anything about her except that she married Theodore Fogarasi and they had my great grandmother Amelia (Emilia?) Fogarasi. Amelia Fogarasi came to America and married George Haza (son of Nicholas and Anna Sorer Haza).

Any information or help in finding anyone in this family would be greatly appreciated.

valarie, hi my name is mark sabados i too am trying to search my family roots, but to no avail. i live near minersville pa. here is what i can tell u about my (sabados) family roots. my grandfather was named john, i have the the original passport from ellis island, he left from a port city in yugoslavia today it is the city of FUIME, his home town is named Felso Domini, and he came to america via the boat the corona. his wife's name was carmen. he was a mine inspector and died in a car accident when he was young. his wife carmen remarried.John and carmen had 2 chiidren john and ann. i am the son of john jr. in closing i would like to say that when he came to america they did not change his name to sabadish because he was taught to read and write english by the priest in austria hungary. thank you mark sabados

George Sabados

Iam looking for George Sabados (Szabadosova) born Hungary in 1858 Married Anna Novak . He entered U.S. in 1875 He went back to Hungary and married Anna in 1879 then returning to Ohio one child born in Ohio name John Jacob, they then moved to Montana in abt 1886. George Jr. and Frank . Do any of these names or dates sound familiar. Thanks for any help. L Williams

Were you able to find any Sabados (Sabadish) ancestors on the Ellis Island site? If so, was the name originally spelled Sabados? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

My paternal Grandfather was Joseph (1896-1938) relocated in Branchdale,Pa (near Minersville). Married Mary Rosco(1890-1947). They had five children:

John 1917-1968
Anna 1920-1994
Stephen 1920-1988 (my father)
Joseph 1922-1953
Elizabeth 1924-2000

My grandmother was Susan Sabados (Sabadish) married to Nicholas Mollish (Males). My Great-grandfather was Paul Sabados (Sabadish). I know that he was born in either Hungary or Czechoslovakia but did come here to America (unsure when). He returned to his homeland with my grandmother and was trapped in Europe due to the start of WWI. My grandmother raised her family in eastern Pennsylvania in a town named Minersville. I have some feelers out to a cousin who has been trying to locate family members on that side. Any info. anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

My mother's maiden name was Juditha Sabados she Had 2 sisters Elena & Katarina as well as a brother (cant remember his name)they came from Timisoara Romania. Unfortunately they are all deceased now. Actually she married a Slovak, my father Rudolf. They would all be in their late 70's if they were still alive.

Nice to find other folks with the same last name.
We are a branch of the family from northeastern Pa.
So far have been unable to trace our roots prior to
Ellis Island and have also not found descendents
from this tree in Czechoslovakia.
