I am trying to help my mother find information about her father (my grandfather). His name was Simforoso Jose Sabino and he was born in Cavite, Philippines around 1890. He married Louisa Hasbrouck about 1926. He was in the Navy and lived in New York and Rhode Island. His mother was named Tomasia (which is what my mother's name is, she was named after his mother. He disappeared from my mother's life when she was only 10 (about 1938/39). He told her he had to go away for awhile and to help take care of her sisters and brothers. He never returned. Her mother refused to give anyone any details about him and took the secret to her grave. If anyone knows any information or anywhere I can go from here, please let me know.
