John married in 1860 in Henry Co., Illinois, to Amanda Stevenson or Stephens of Pennsylvania. Both died in David City, Butler, Nebraska. John in 1926 and Amanda in 1910. Love to hear from anyone out there on this family. Judy

Sacrider's

I really believe that John Henry Sacrider was my
great grandfathers George Sacrider's brother. My
mother use to talk about the rich relatives who
lived in Lincoln, Neb and sent their hand-me-
down clothes to her and her sister. I have also
been trying to find out who their father was.
The family genealogy states that George was born
in Albany, NY (County? City?) It also said that
his wife was born in Albany and I have traced her
family to Montgomery Co, Canajohnarie NY. The only
problem was they were married in Iowa and I have
not been able to determine if they knew eachother
in NY. (Its possible as she left NY as an older
teenager.)
I found George on an 1870 Iowa census, Scott Co and
it lists his birth place as NY, but it also
lists the spelling of his name as Sackrider.
I am convinced that we come from the Christian
Sackrider III (b 1712) Christian IV (b 1734)
but after that it gets a little cloudy.
Good luck in your search and if you learn anything
please let me know.
( I believe I have some pictures of the Nebraska Sacriders
but unfortunately they are up in an attic that
I can't get to. I am going on memory, but if they
turn out to be, I will send you copies.
Lynne
