RITES TO BE HELD FOR JOHN RICHARD SAILORS


Funeral services will be con-
ducted at the Dogwood church
near East Prairie at 2 o'clock to-
morrow afternoon for John Rich-
ard SAILORS, who died of dropsy
last Monday at the home of a
daughter at Chaffee soon after
his arrival from California, where
he had resided since last August.
Rev. Ray Tallent will have charge
of the rites. Burial will be in the
church cemetery with Taylor service.
Mr. Sailors was born at East
Prairie November 28, 1882. He
spent most of his life there and
in the Sikeston community until
last summer when he moved to
California. He became ill in March
and received hospitalization for
several weeks. Feeling improved,
he decided to return to Missouri
and reached Chaffee only a short
time before the end.
The survivors include his widow,
Mrs. fannie Sailors; five sons,
Tobe, Mack and Joe, of Sikeston,
J.D. of san Francisco, Cal., and
Verlin SAILORS, of Brigham City,
Utah, and six daughters, Mrs. Bill
Vaughn, Mrs. Paul Brown, Mrs.
Andrew Jeffries and Miss Fadine
Sailors, of San Francisco; Mrs.
Ruth Gray of Charleston and Mrs.
Chester Niswonger of Chaffee. All
will attend the rites.
